PANTABANGAN, Nueva Ecija — Twelve cases of Influenza A(H1N1) virus were confirmed here at the Pantabangan National High School while five similar cases were reported at the Central Luzon State University last week.
The Provincial Health Office said in a report there was resurgence of the dreaded swine flu virus that initially struck pupils at the Hilera Elementary School in Barangay Hilera, Jaen, Nueva Ecija early June.
Nora Magno, CLSU chief nurse, reported from July 1 up to July 23, a total of 1,151 students have been initially diagnosed as sick at the school’s infirmary.
Results of swab samples taken from the said students were released last July 20 where they all recovered from fever.
Meanwhile, classes at the CLSU remain uninterrupted even when school authorities have ordered a thorough cleanup of the surroundings.
Provincial Health Officer Dr. Benjamin Lopez said his office is continuously observing the protocol on spotting of symptoms of A(H1N1). -- MV
