CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga- Three police provincial directors in Central Luzon are set to be relieved next month after completing their two years as tour of duty.
Based on the record gathered from the Office of the Directorial Staff in the Regional Headquarters here, Sr. Supt. Roland Felix, Zambales PD, will be completing his two years as PD in that province by the end of December.
In Tarlac, Sr. Supt. Rudy Lacadin, incumbent Tarlac PD, is also set to be relieved by the Second week of January, next year after completing the mandatory two years as PD.
In Bataan, Sr. Supt. Manuel Gaerlan, PNP director of Bataan, is also reportedly vying for a higher post after completing his tour of duty come December.
The three have all completed successfully their mandatory two years as PD by that time, sources here said.
Under the PNP law, a PD has limited to two years in a province, provided he is performing well. A PD, however, can be anytime booted out of his provincial command if he is not working well.
Gaerlan, Lacadin and Felix are slated to ascend to a higher post in the PNP in preparation for their promotion to a “Star” or a rank of PNP general.
Asked if he will still take another PNP command after his Bataan post, Col. Gaerlan, who graduated top in the PMA class 1985, said however, that he will then seek a regional staff post as a prerequisite for becoming a PNP general.
A number of senior superintendents are reportedly scrambling to get access from the governors of the three provinces- Bataan, Zambales and Tarlac- whose PDs are set to be relieved. But a PD applicant has to seek also the nod of the PNP’s Senior Officers Placement and Promotion Board to enable him include in the list of three nominees from which a governor will choose.
