CIDU agents rescue teen girls lured into prostitution

BAGUIO CITY -- Four minors reportedly coerced or lured into prostitution were rescued by elements of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit- Cordillera in operations here last week.
Chief Insp. Mely Rita Anamong said their office had received complaints from parents of the victims that they suspected that their children were being prostituted along CariƱo St. in Burnham Park here.
A team was led by Chief Insp. Lucrecio Rodrigueza Jr, supervised by Senior Supt Moises Guevarra was immediately formed to look into the concern.
Anamong said surveillance was conducted around 11 p.m of Nov. 10 wherein Rodrigueza’s team arrested a certain Candys, a seventeen-year-old gay in the act of pimping one of his wards.
Rescued from the police operation were female minors with aged 13, 14 and 17.
A case for the violation of the Anti Trafficking of Persons Act of 2003 was filed against the suspected pimp with the City Prosecutors Office.
The suspect and the victims were turned over to the office of the Department of Social Welfare and Development for temporary custody.
