School principal, waylaid, shot to death in P’sinan

BASISTA, Pangasinan — A public school principal died after he was waylaid and shot to death by two still unidentified motorcycle-riding armed men while he was on his way to his office at Barangay Navatat here morning of Jan. 7.

A report from the Basista municipal police station headed by Senior Insp. Renato Solomon identified the victim as Herminigildo Sabangan, 57, widower, the principal of the Urbiztondo National High School, who resides in Barangay Dumpay, Basista.

Police said the victim was driving his motorcycle on his way to office when another motorcycle with the two armed men on board overtook him, swerved left and right that forced the former to stop and confront the suspects.
