4 NPA leaders nabbed in Isabela

CAMP MELCHOR DE LE LA CRUZ, Gamu, Isabela – Lawmen nabbed four ranking officers of the New People’s Army at Dibigin, Minanga, San Mariano, Isabela at about 5 a.m. on Feb. 7.
In a report sent to Brig. Gen. Rommel A. Gomez, commander of the Army’s 5th Infantry Division, by Col. Arnulfo J. Marcos, commanding Officer of 502ND Infantry Brigade,nabbed were Michael Erana Aka Poktong, central front secretary and commanding officer of Platoon Uno (Code Name: REMO); Mario AguistinAka Aki, member Kalihim of Central Front and commanding officer of Platoon Dos and vice commanding officer of central front Raffy Valencia Aka Buth/Donald; Junior Soria Aka Manny, vice dommanding officer of Platoon Uno.
Recovered from the apprehension site were a Cal .45 pistol, five grenades, explosives and wirings, four packs of dried marijuana in brick form, assorted goods, personal belongings and subversive documents of high intelligence value.
Apprehending lawmen included the 52nd Division Reconnaissance Company, 502nd Infantry Brigade, 52nd Military Intelligence Company, 2nd Intelligence Security Unit, Military Intelligence Group 2, Isabela Police Provincial Office and San Mariano cops.
Gomez said the arrest of the NPA officers will create a leadership crisis in the underground movement that will affect the morale of members’ will to fight.
