VIGAN CITY, Ilocos Sur- Deputy National Security adviser Luis “Chavit” Singson who is running for governor under the Lakas-Kampi ticket, is predicted to win in landslide victory due to his intact, well-oiled machinery and support of mayors and barangay captains.

Aside from the support of the incumbent and reelectionist local officials, even those who are not with the ticket of Singson have also vowed to throw their support on him since his (Singson’s) opponent former board member Efren Rafanan, is a one-man candidate with no candidates for vice governor, board members and mayors and even councilors.

“How do you expect Rafanan to win when he has no incumbent political leaders and allies to support him; he is just wasting his time,” said Ben Pacris, a veteran newsman and political analyst here.

But Singson said even though his victory is certain “I’ll still campaign hard from the town down to barangay levels to court the electorate even from the forested areas barangays.”

Aside from Singson, the victory of his son reelectionist Rep. Ronald V. Singson, 1st district, is also widely known as certain due to the political machinery of them, plus he said, the outstanding performance that he had in his first three years as congressman and during his stint as board member of the province.

Another son of Chavit, Ryan, was also unopposed in his vice mayoralty bid of the City of Vigan after no one contested his candidacy. So with Chavit’s nephew Mayor Eva marie Singson. Medina of this city, has also run unopposed, breaking the political record if this capital city.

Chavit's runningmate Deogracias Victor "DV" Savellano, who is the incumbent governor but lowered down to vice governorship to give way to Singson, has also no opponent.-
