2 Ifugao schools national Brigada Eskwela awardees

LAMUT, Ifugao- An elementary school and a high school here bagged national awards in the search for the best implementer of the Brigada Eskwela for school year 2009-2010.
For their implementation of the Department of Education’s Brigada Eskwela, the national awardees were Nayon Elementary School and Hapid National High School.
Conrado Buccat, HNHS principal said participation of stakeholders contributed to success of Brigada Eskwela. “The stakeholders donated materials such as cement, steel bars and hallow blocks for the construction of the school fence and concrete tables which amounted to P50,000.”.
Stakeholders composed of parents, women’s organization, barangay council, Local government Unit , police and the Hapid United Family Association also repaired school facilities such as ceiling of classrooms and constructed concrete study tables inside the school campus.
Buccat and NES principal , Juliet Apiit, will receive the awards in Manila.
Part of school opening preparations is the Brigada Eskwela Plus (BEP) or the National Community Involvement in Education Initiative.
It is a program that aims to tap communities provide assistance towards attainment of smooth and timely delivery of public education services. -- Vency D. Bulayungan
