Free tuition at MPSPC to start second semester

BONTOC, Mountain Province – Congressman-elect Maximo Dalog, during his thanksgiving celebration here May 29, announced tuition subsidy at the Mountain Province State Polytechnic College here will be effective second semester considering by opening of classes on June 14, he will not yet assume as congressman.
Dalog, during the campaign period, said he would implement a scholarship subsidy similar to the educational program of then Rep. Victor Dominguez which the former acknowledged as a good program worthy to be emulated.
Under the scholarship program, students from Mountain Province enrolled at the college were granted free tuition fees in all levels.
But the program in the last stages of its implementation became selective as only those who applied were given scholarship grants.
Dalog called on the people to support newly elected officials whom he has also urged to extend harmonious relations and cooperative governance for progress and development of the province.
In a talk before supporters and visitors at the Eyeb Open Gym here, he urged the newly elected provincial and municipal officials to synchronize government programs including the provincial and congressional plans.
Dalog also extended said he wanted reconciliation with his worthy opponents during the bitterly fought electoral exercise saying, “Let us forgive and forget”.
He solicited the cooperation of the losing candidates by recognizing the results of the elections.
Meanwhile, his supporters conveyed statements of commitments and support to the administration of the congressman-elect through songs during intermission numbers.
Dalog acknowledged the messages and promised to do whatever he can to deliver the best services he can.
Reelected board member Carino Tamang and newly elected board member Alfonso Kiat-ong also delivered their messages thanking the people for their support and pledging to be of utmost service to the public.
Other elected provincial officials did not attend the affair.
