BAGUIO CITY – Mayor Mauricio G. Domogan warned erring city government employees who abandon their posts without justifiable reasons during office hours that they will be facing stiff sanctions in accordance to existing Civil Service Commission (CSC) rules and regulations once they are caught.

The mayor said ghost workers have no place in his administration, adding all permanent and temporary employees will be properly accounted for by the city human resource management office.

Their duties and responsibilities will also be determined to make sure that true service will be given to the taxpayers.

To ensure efficiency in government service, Domogan called on the public to do their part by being observant so civil servants satisfactorily perform their assigned tasks in line with their mandate.

However, the local chief executive reminded local residents not to generalize, but pinpoint erring employees so concerned offices could give them disciplinary action.

According to Domogan, department heads should also do their part in closely monitoring activities of employees under their supervision.

He supported the strengthening of the local citizens charter where the amount of time in the processing of documents and other transactions are displayed in various offices so the public will be guided in their transactions with concerned departments of the local government.

The mayor ordered all city departments to conduct a massive information and education campaign on the existing citizens charter so people will be aware of procedures in transacting business with the local government.
