BAGUIO CITY – Maximum penalties would be imposed against marker vendors who use fraudulent practices to defraud buyers using illegal weighing scale among others.
Mayor Mauricio Domogan bared this last week after market superintendent Policarpio Tamayo briefed the mayor on the illegal practice by some vendors using defective weighing scales.
Tamayo also suggested putting up three weighing stations in the market to deter such activities.
A fine of P1,000 would imposed on persons who fraudulently alter any seal or balance, weight or measure after it is officially sealed.
The same fee is also imposed on persons caught using tampered scales whether these are sealed or not while these would be seized and publicly destroyed.
Meantime, Nancy Alabanza was elected president of the Baguio Market Vendors Association last Sept. 6.
Alabanza would automatically become member of the Market Authority, Alay sa Kalinisan and the Market Task Force.
