BAGUIO CITY – The regional trial court here recently sentenced a 23-year old marijuana dealer from Kapangan, Benguet to life imprisonment and pay a fine of P5 million.
Antonio C. Reyes, presiding RTC judge of Regional Trial Court Branch 61, First Judicial Region found Jun S. Naubo guilty beyond reasonable doubt of violating Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Cordillera said the judgment was rendered just a little over a year and four months after Naubo’s arrest.
Naubo was apprehended on April 6, 2009 during an anti-narcotic buy-bust operation by the PDEA at a bus station here in Barangay Kagitingan.
He sold four blocks of dried marijuana fruiting tops to a drug law enforcement agent who acted as buyer.
The marijuana blocks weighed four kilos, worth around a hundred thousand pesos.
