Disaster training conducted in Ifugao

LAGAWE, Ifugao---A five-day first aid, search and rescue skills training was recently conducted here by the regional Office of the Civil Defense attended by around 50 participants from government offices.

The training was led by OCD’s Rex Manuel, also the chairman of the Heart Rescue Team of Benguet and Baguio City.

In his message, Gov. Eugene M Balitang said trainings such as this one was a need in times of emergencies or calamities and should be supported by the government.

Trainings included those on cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR), techniques of carrying victims, bandaging, knot and rope techniques, rappelling, water and road rescue techniques. -- Ophel P. Dornagon
