Village chief shot dead

TAYUM, Abra -- Another official of Barangay Cabaroan here was shot to death by still men at Sitio Mundoc on June 6 at about 6:30 p.m.
Police identified the victim was as Arthur J. Alagao, 40 married, and a resident of Mundoc.
Police investigation revealed the victim was walking along the road going home when he was shot by perpetrators who immediately fled after the incident.
Alagao sustained multiple gunshot wounds on different parts of his body and was immediately rushed to the Abra Provincial Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician.
Police recovered four Cal. 45 bullets at the crime scene.
Tayum police conducted checkpoint operation resulting to the apprehension of IIarde B. Jaquias, 34, married, resident of Mundoc for illegal possession of firearms.
The suspect was flagged down while riding a blue Yamaha with plate number ZY 4773.
Police confiscated from Jaquias a Cal. 45 pistol and a Colt MK IV handgun loaded with six bullets.
Jaquias was brought to thw town police station for further investigation if he was connected to the killing of Alagao.
