Baguio traffic problem turning off tourist: exec

BAGUIO CITY – Tourists have started to get turned off by heavy traffic here due to numerous ongoing road projects and schemes to ease congestion.

Vice Mayor Daniel Farinas bared this saying improvement of traffic flow outside or within the central business district could once more bring back the enthusiasm of tourists here.

"Many of our tourists earlier complained about our vehicle volume reduction ordinance or number coding scheme as they felt some inconvenience of not having allowed to enter our central business district," he said.

Traffic woes worsened with the implementation of numerous concreting projects which adversely affected the entry of motorists to the city from the various main routes like the Halsema Highway, Quirino Highway, Marcos Highway and andKennon Road.

Farinas however assured that the city police is doing its job in traffic direction and rules implementation to ease the traffic flow in the city.

He also said the city council will take a closer look at the traffic problem to come up with doable solutions.
