BENITO SOLIVEN, Isabela – The vice mayor of this town was charged for illegal logging after assorted types of lumbers were recovered from his compound in the Barangay District 2.
Police provincial chief Jimmy Rivera Sr. said the case stemmed from the seizure of some 1,800-board-foot of log, including narra, from the property owned by Vice Mayor Roberto Lungan, a known wood lumber dealer here.
Lungan did not issue any statement to the media, and he reportedly fled from his house to avoid arrest. -- PNA
