'Pedring' blocks 30 roads, bridges in Luzon provinces

More than 30 roads and bridges in 14 provinces in Luzon remained closed to vehicles at press time due to landslides and floods caused by Typhoon "Pedring," the Department of Public Works and Highways reported.

The roads rendered impassable due to the onslaught of the typhoon were reported by the DPWH's regional offices in Cordillera Administrative Region, Ilocos, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon and Bicol.

The DPWH said that its regional offices have deployed emergency crew and equipment to clear and repair the affected roads. It added that warning signs have been installed to forewarn motorists of the damaged roads and bridges.

The damaged roads and bridges as of 7 a.m. Friday are as follows:

Cordillera Administrative Region -- Abra-Kalinga Road, Mt. Province

Tiktik and Pingad section along Baguio – Bontoc Road; Matoytoyoc section along Mt. Province, Cagayan via Tabuk- Enrile Road, Talubin Section along Bontoc – Banaue Road, Calabacan Bridge along Mt. Province – Ilocos Sur Road, Junction Talubin-Barlig-Paracelis-Calaccad Road.

In Benguet were Shilan – Beckel Road, Buboc Section along Benguet-Nueva Vizcaya Road, Camp 5 & 6 along Kennon Road, Itogon-Dalupirip Road, Ambassador Section along Baguio-Bontoc Road
and Lamagan Section along Gurel-Bukod-Kabugao-Buguias- Abatan Road

In Kalinga: Tabuk- Banawe Road via Tanudan-Barlig Road; Malalao Road. SalegsegSection along Kalinga-Abra Road

In Apayao was Magnas Section along Claveria-Calanasan Road.

In Ifugao were Burnay Bridge along N. Vizcaya-Ifugao-Mt. Province Road, Banaue-Hungduan – Benguet Boundary Road.

Ilocos Region: Ilocos Sur, Katkateng Bridge along Cervantes-Quirino Road.

Cagayan Valley Region: Cagayan Gagabutan Bridge III along Cagayan – Apayao Road and Maguilling Overflow Bridge along Cagayan-Apayao Road

Isabela: Cabagan Sta Maria Overflow Bridge and Tagaran Bridge along Daang Maharlika

Nueva Vizcaya: Junction National Bitnong Belance in Nueva Vizcaya Road

Central Luzon: Aurora – Barangay Villa along Aurora- Nueva Ecija Road, Baler Casiguran Road, Dinadiawan Bridge.

Nueva Ecija: Putlan- Carranglan along Daang Maharlika, Barangays Aya and San Juan along Pinagpanaan Rizal-Pantabangan Road, Nanduran Spillway and Baong Spillway along Nueva Ecija-Aurora Road, Pantoc -Gabaldon and Brgy Ligaya Section along Tablang-Gabaldon Road

Bulacan: Bocaue Section along Manila North Road, Pandayan Section in Meycauyan Manila North Road.
