Former Ilocos town mayor's son killed

SAN NICOLAS, Ilocos Norte – The son of a former mayor of this town was gunned down here before dawn Oct. 31.

Chief Insp. LelanBenigno said Ashley Madamba, 45, of Barangay San Agustin and son of former mayor Benjamin Madamba suffered gunshot wounds in the face and the right side of his body from a 9mm caliber handgun.

Investigation showed that the victim, who works part time as a tricycle driver, had three male passengers before he was found dead by policemen at around 2 a.m.

Residents reported hearing gunshots in the area where the young Madamba was slain.
