Events set for Peace Week in Kalinga

TABUK CITY, Kalinga -- A weeklong celebration of Linggong Kapayapaan from Dec. 5 to 10 to show support to Human Rights Day on December 8 will spearheaded by the 501st Infantry Brigade based here.
During opening day, a motorcade, a biking event, tour guiding and photo display would be held.
Col. YersonDepayso, commanding officer of the 501st Brigade, said the activities aimed to increase awareness of peace through literary and photo exhibits, tourism activities and sports.
On the spot contests will be on the second day conducted by Brigade Eskwela in the towns of Rizal and Pinukpuk to be spearheadded by military reservists on the second day.
The third day will be the “Father and peace” event participated by religious sectors with a concert for peace in front of St. William’s Cathedral and also at Rizal.
The medical civic action program or medcap in Tinglayan is set the fourth day.
When the fifth day, participants will be signing a peace covenant capped by an ecumenical service.
