Documents ‘missing’: JHMC prexy denies graft case whitewash

BAGUIO CITY -- John Hay Management Corp. president Jamie Agbayani has denied allegations of a whitewash of evidence for loss of documents allegedly supporting graft complaints filed against her.
Agbayani said as early as Jan. 21, 2012, or a day after the alleged complaint filed with the Ombudsman was released to the media, she ordered JHMC finance manager Miriam Mosuella to check the completeness of said documents detailed in the complaint.
On Jan. 22, 2012, initial findings reportedly showed some documents could not be accounted for.
This was reported to the JHMC Security Office and to the Baguio Police Station 4 located at PEZA, Loakan Road, a JHMC press statement said.
This was filed under blotter entry number 12-0132. On Jan. 23, 2012 after thorough search made by Mosuella and acting budget officer JennylynEseoso, some documents like receipts and disbursement vouchers of representation allowances for meals, gasoline and telephone bills of Agbayani were reportedly confirmed missing.
This was again reported to the Baguio Police Station under blotter entry no. 12-0134 dated Jan. 23,
2012.
“Moreover, the loss of these documents were brought up by Agbayani during a press conference held Jan. 23, 2012,the press statement said. “Please note that as of this date, Agbayani still has to receive a notice from the Office of the Ombudsman and the Commission of Audit regarding said complaint.
“Dr. Jamie Agbayani appeals to the seven employee-complainants that in as much as the complaints have already been filed , it is best to leave this matter to the proper authorities. She enjoins all JHMC employees to move forward for the good of the corporation,” the JHMC statement said.
Meanwhile, Melody Brawner, JHMC operations chief said allegations of a whitewash were baseless saying on Jan. 21, a day after the alleged Ombudsman complaint was released to the media, Agbayani ordered Mosuella to check the completeness of said documents detailed in the complaint.
Allegations by Joey Ayeo-eo, MelquiadesBada, Arthur Odsey, Joy Abad, Joseph Agcaoili, Kenneth Sulipa, and Benjamin Quino Jr. said original documents, receipts and disbursement vouchers pertaining to Agbayani’s expenses for meals, gas, representation and communication have been reported missing from the finance department.
The group filed a police blotter on the missing documents.
Brawner said, “On January 22, 2012, initial findings showed that some documents could not be accounted for. This was reported to the JHMC Security Office and to the Baguio Police Station 4 located at PEZA, Loakan Road.”
Brawner said the company likewise filed a police report on the missing documents after a futile search by Acting Budget Officer JennylynEseoso.JHMC admitted some documents like receipts and disbursement vouchers of representation allowances for meals, gasoline and telephone bills of Dr. Jamie Abayani were indeed confirmed missing and was immediately reported to the police.
