Three dead, three hurt in Ambuklao Road mishap

BOKOD, Benguet – Three persons died while three others were injured when the van they were riding in fell down a ravine here along the Ambuklao Road March 4.

A police report said the while Hi-Ace white van bearing plate No. TFS-938 and owned by Midtown Church of Christ based in Baguio City fell down a 100 meter deep ravine.

Following this, Bokod police and volunteers responded and brought the victims to Baguio hospitals, tow hours drive from here.

Fatalities were identified as Edgar Allan Chan Po, 40, his wife Janice Reyes Po, 48 and Zacarias Gamunay Camura, 60, of Bahong, La Trinidad, Benguet, who died while undergoing treatment due to head and internal injuries.

Injured passengers, all members of the Midtown Church of Christ were identified as Aldian Simyu Reyes Po, 20, Ira Reyes Po, 17, children of the Po couple and residents, along with their parents, of Km 4, Marlets Building, Marcos Highway, Baguio City.

Also hurt in the accident was Bestro Gamunay Colas, 70, of Pito, Bokod, Benguet.

All victims were rushed to Saint Louis University-Hospital of the Sacred Heart, Baguio City for medical treatment however the three fatalities died while undergoing treatment due to their head and internal injuries .

Ira Po was confined at the Baguio General Hospital-Medical Center, Baguio City while Bestro Gamunay Colas and Aldian Simyu Reyes Po were confined at SLU-HSH, Baguio City.
