Explosives retrieved in Benguet junk shop

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Two cops retrieved two explosives in a junk shop at Upper Shilan here on April 5.

This, after a text message of a certain Romero of 3R Junk informing police that pieces of suspected explosives were mixed with scrap metals sold to them.

Immediately after, SPO2 Ceasar L Cattiling and PO3 Aida E. Esteban proceeded to the said place and found a piece of Japanese FHG type and another 2.36” armor piercing explosive.

The explosives were brought to the regional police office here Cordillera for safekeeping while awaiting instructions from higher headquarters for proper disposal.

The explosives will be transported immediately to SitioDurunganan, Sta Juliana, Capas, Tarlac for disposal. The said place is where the Philippine army holds bombing exercises and disposal.

The regional police office appealed to the public to call (074) 305 5701 whenever they encounter suspected bombs or explosives.
