Charges filed vsbocap, three others for shabu

BADOC,
Ilocos Norte– Court charges for illegal drugs were filed against a barangay
chairman and three other suspects after they were arrested in a buy-bust
operation by anti-narcotics agents here June 17.
Acting
on several intelligence reports that a certain Josie Cajigal and her family
were selling shabu in their house, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional
Office 1 agents with Ilocos Norte Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special
Operations Task Group and Provincial Intelligence Branch went to Barangay Santa
Cruz here to entrap the family.
Law
enforcers placed themselves around Cajigal’s house while an anti-narcotics
agent with a confidential informant entered the residence to order shabu.
It
was Norberto Cajigal, 27, also known as “Atong,” son of Josie who entertained
the agents who reportedly asked her mother Josie to get the illegal drugs.
Josie
handed a sachet of shabu to her nephew, who was later identified as
FloferCajigal 26, who in turn gave it to Atong.
Atong
completed the transaction by giving the shabu and pocketing the marked money
making law enforcers arrest them.
SesinandoToralba,
barangay chairman of Barangay 3, Alogoong here who was reportedly in the house
reacted to the arrest by trying to escape but was eventually caught.
In
his possession was a pouch filled with shabu paraphernalia.
A
drug test confirmed the barangay chairman as a shabu user and was later charged
with violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Other
confiscated items from the drug pushing family included four sachets of shabu
valued at P1,000 each, drug paraphernalia and the marked money used in the
illegal drug transaction.
