CITY, Kalinga -- The Civil Service Commission is accepting until Sept. 21
applications for sub-professional and professional examinations set Oct. 237.
Ruben
Wacas, CSC chief for Kalinga and Apayao said they expect 600 applicants from
the two provinces who will be taking the exam here, which has been identified
as a testing center .
“Part
of our present policy is to bring down our services to the provinces so that
everyone has the chance to participate,” he said.
He
said the Commission tries to maintain testing centers in the provinces to help
examinees take the exams without necessarily spending going to regional and
central examination centers, and avoiding inconveniences.
“With
the support of local government units, we try to professionalize the civil
service by extending to those in far places the privilege of taking the exams
particularly those employed who have no eligibility,” Wacas said.
Last
May 27, 420 out of 440 applicants took the exam held at Sta. Marcela in Apayao
– 313 for the professional exam and 107 for the sub-professional.
It
was the second time that the CSC exam was held in Sta. Marcela through the request of Vice Mayor
Evelyne Martinez, Wacas said.
He reminded examinees that CSC is very strict now. Credentials are
verified and the “No ID, No test” policy stands, he said, adding five examinees last May 27 at Apayao were
disqualified because they had no ID.
He
said aside from checking the submitted requirements, new procedures were
adapted by the Commission to ensure the integrity of the examination.
