Gunman in slay of Isabela Comelec officials nabbed

ALFONSO LISTA, Ifugao – Police arrested here the  man who reportedly shot to death Isabela provincial Election officer of lawyer Michael Valdez on Nov. 14, 2009 inside his own Country Hotel State Inn, at Barangay 4 in Tumaini, Isabela.

Police identified the suspect as Giovani “Baning” Taccad Mendoza of Roxas,Isabela.

He was arrested July 3 around 4:30 a.m. at Purok 2, Barangay Kalupaan by police operatives of regional  intelligence division, Kalinga and Ifugao including this town.

This, after Felipe Jesus Torio, presiding judge of regional trial court, branch 12, Cabagan, Isabela issued a warrant against Mendoza for murder.
