Baguio, Benguet studes top civil service exams

BAGUIO CITY -- Students of this resort city and nearby Benguet State University in La Trinidad, Benguet topped the recent nationwide Civil Service exams.
           
George Russel N. Erfe, a nursing graduate, and Victor Al S. Medina, a third year Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering both from Saint Louis University (SLU), Baguio City, obtained the highest scores in the career service professional and sub professional paper and pencil test (PPT) respectively, held last May 27 conducted in Abra, Apayao, Mountain Province and Baguio City.
           
Five hundred ninety-four successfully passed the professional level and 142 for the sub professional level.
           
Erfe garnered a rating of 87.04% for the professional test while Medina topped the sub professional with a 90.42% rating.
           
Completing the list of the top ten regional passers for the professional level are: Job David J. Manalang (UP-Baguio), Freda B. Chayuwan (BSU), Richard Jan B. Clemente (SLU), Jon Ian Deric C. Dumapis (BSU), Arianne L. Aquino (UP-Baguio), Jessica Ann L. Fernandez (SLU), Kris Angelie C. Fangonilo (SLU), Krisha Camille D. Rueco (UP-Baguio), and Rumell Niño S. Gaoaen (Easter College).
           
For subprofessional level: Pia Angelica P. Rivera (UP-Baguio), Roflyne L. Fangayen (SLU), Heidi Lyn P. Agwaking (UC-BCF), Gaynor T. Yamoyam (SLU), Lean Lyn F. Jimenez (SLU), Karen Anne R. Marzo (SLU), Rocelle Mae M. Barrientos (SLU), Grail C. Moog (SLU), Norma L. Badian (SLU), and Sigrade B. Ayan (SLU).

Passers of the CS examinations earn a career service eligibility which is one of the basic requirements for permanent appointment to first and second level positions in government.
           
The release of certificates will be during the flag-raising ceremony on August 13 at 8 a.m. at the CSC regional office, 116 Wagner Road, Military Cut-Off, Baguio City.
           
Passers are advised to bring their valid ID card and application receipt with picture. 
           
Those who failed the test may secure a copy of their report of rating through the CSC website, www.csc.gov.ph
