Mayor's ex-bodyguard shot dead by two men

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga – A former bodyguard of Orion Mayor Jose Santos was shot dead by two men in Barangay Camachille in the town last Sept. 21. 

Senior Supt. Ricardo Zapata, Bataan police provincial director, identified the fatality as Joey Sabino, 51.

Zapata said the victim was having dinner when the suspects forcibly entered his rented apartment and shot him several times. 

           

Police recovered eight spent shells and seven deformed slugs for a caliber .45 pistol. 

           

Authorities are still trying to identify the killers and their motive for killing Zapata.

           

Residents theorized Zapata could have been killed as a result of politics, a feud or love triangle.
