BAUKO,
Mountain Province – This province’s congressman is now in hot water after he
was charged at the Office of the Ombudsman for allegedly underdeclaring his
Statement of Assets and Liabilities (SALN).
Newly
installed Supreme Court Lourdes Sereno’s challenge to
government officials to file their Statement of Assets and
Liabilities (SALN) has encouraged petitioner Salvador Liked to
follow up his complaint at the Office of the Ombudsman urging said
office to issue a subpoena to the Bureau of Internal Revenue to
furnish copies of Rep. Maximo Dalog’s income tax returns from years
2004 to 2009.
Bauko
resident Liked filed March last year complaint for perjury, under-declaration
and non-declaration of SALN against citing alleged unexplained wealth,
falsification and dishonesty.
Properties
allegedly not included in Dalog’s SALN are a house and lot, Toyota Prado,
Toyota Fortuner SUV, Bushmaster gun, among others including a Quezon City lot.
The
complaint filed at the Office of the Ombudsman accused Dalog of having
allegedly under-declared millions of assets including trucks not
declared in his SALN from 2004 to 2009 despite owning CocaCola Sole Distributorship
and NFA Trucking Services.
Dalog
filed P8.1 million worth of assets less liabilities in his SALN for 2004, P5.7
million in 2005, P5.6 million in 2006, P4.3 million in 2007, P4.8 million in
2008, P5.9 million in 2009 and P5.8 million in 2010.
