Ilocos Norte mayor out of graft raps

PAGUDPUD, Ilocos Norte – The Office of the Ombudsman has dismissed the charges filed against  Mayor Maja Sales of this tourist town for grave abuse of authority.

Alan Vincent Caluya filed the case against Sales for allegedly using her influence to facilitate the release of documents of a disputed estate.

In its resolution last Nov. 16, the Ombudsman said Caluya’s complaint has no probable cause since he could not presented any evidence to prove his claim.

The Provincial Board of Ilocos Norte had suspended Sales for six months over the same case.
