Riding in tandem men kill old man

BANTAY,
Ilocos Sur – Gunmen believed to be gun for hire shot and killed an old man last
week when they ambushed the victim and his wife in broad daylight
along the national highway here in Sitio Baoay, Barangay Paing.
Reports
identified the victim as Jaime Bueza, 73, of Barangay Manueva, Santa, Ilocos
Sur.
However,
the victims’ wife who was with him, was not hurt and identified as Leticia
Bueza, of Barangay Manueva, Santa town.
Police
said that the incident occurred Tuesday morning when the victims were on the way
back to their home in the highway.
Apparently
tailed by the suspects who were wearing bonnets and aboard a motorcycle, the
gunmen shot them point blank.
Jaime
succumbed to bullets wounds on his head and other parts of his body causing his
instant death. His wife was unhurt.
The
suspects escaped immediately from the crime scene after the killing.
Responding
policemen recovered several empty shells for Cal. 45 pistol at the crime
scene.
Newsmen
learned this was the second time that gunmen attempted on the life of the
victim after a failed ambush Jan. 19, 2011 in Sitio Baoay, Barangay Paing,
also in this town; his daughter Alyssa Marie Soria was killed.
