3 gun ban violators nabbed, 8 firearms seized in Cordi

CAMP DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet  – Three gun ban violators were arrested including an army trooper while eight firearms were confiscated in the Cordillera recently.

Chief Supt. Benjamin B. Magalong, regional police director bared this saying arrested was a 47-year old truck driver March 9 in Balili Village, Kapangan, Benguet identified as Francisco Naty Lodor, who was  in possession of a Cal. 9mm pistol with a magazine loaded with eight bullets.

In Abra, police arrested a 39-year old man March 8 in Cosili East, Bangued for illegal possession of firearms and violation of the Commission on Elections gun ban.

Chief Insp. Raymund A. Train, police chief led the arrest of Norby Pagal, Paño, of Banay, Pidigan.

Paño was found in possession of a Cal. 45 pistol with one magazine loaded with one bullet.

Still in Abra, a member of the Philippine Army was arrested inside Detachment Bar located along Washington St., Zone 2, Bangued, on March 8, by Bangued police.

Emil Berona Bragas, a resident of Poblacion Nueva Era, Ilocos Norte, member of the PA presently assigned with the 50th Infantry Battalion PA based in Manabo was arrested for violation of Comelec gun ban.

He was found in possession of a Cal. 45 pistol with a magazine loaded with 8 bullets.

Five assorted firearms and bullets were also surrendered to Abra police with help of local government officials and concerned citizens of Abra.

Jerry Domingo Dait, 39, farmer and a resident of Balioag, Pilar surrendered a Cal. 9mm pistol with a magazine to police on March 8.

Barangay captain Severino Gandeza Jimenez of  Libtec, Dolores also surrendered a Cal. 45pistol to local police.

Another barangay captain -- Recto Dusagan Valdez of San Quintin, Rizal, Kalinga also surrendered a shotgun to town police on March 8.

On March 10, barangay council member Sonny Buenafe Sta Ana of Karkarmay, Bangued, also surrendered a shotgun to Bangued police.

On the same date Ceferino Britos Trinidad, 84, of Lublubba, Dolores, also turned in a Cal. 22 rifle to police.

All arrested persons and confiscated firearms are now under the custody of respective police stations.
