Cordillera police uses website to fight crime
CAMP DANGWA, La
Trinidad, Benguet -- The Cordillera regional police office is now using web
geographic information system (Web GIS), a crime mapping system to improve
crime fighting.
Under
this project, the crime data is stored in the program that is updated
regularly, overlaid in a map along with crime hotspots.
This
allows people to view up to date crime incidents, crime types, trends,
patterns, and other relevant information.

community.
Residents
can in turn share this information on criminal incidents with their neighbors
or they can give feedback on problems and issues faced by police agencies and
the community.
This
makes them partners in crime prevention and control.
