LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – Step down peacefully
as provincial police director and exercise a bit of delicadeza.
This was the call made by sixth district
board member Alfonso Bince Jr. in his privilege speech on Monday, as he and his
colleagues passed a resolution “expressing the sense of concurrence and
support” to the complaint filed by Gov. Amado Espino Jr. against Senior Supt.
Marlou Chan.
An amended complaint was filed May 32 before
the court to include Chief Supt. Ricardo Marquez, Region 1 police director, and
Director CatalinoCuy of the directorate for personnel and records management.
In his petition, Espino asked for a temporary
restraining order to rectify oversight in designation of Chan as provincial
police director.
Judge Caridad Villegas Galvez of Regional
Trial Court Branch 69 here reset the hearing on Espino’s petition today after
Chan’s lawyer sought the attendance of representatives of the Office of the
Solicitor General.
For his part, Chan said, “Let us allow the
court to decide and for the meantime, we just continue with our job. We are not
disturbed by such a petition, if at all. But it inspires us to do some more.”
