BAGUIO CITY - As part of this
year’s celebration of the Baguio City 104th Charter Day Anniversary, the city
government of Baguio spearheaded by the Public Employment and Services Office
(PESO) in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) will
conduct a Charter Day Job Fair which be held at the Baguio Convention Center
Sept 4.
This is a one-day
affair featuring local and overseas vacancies.
Job vacancies range
from those requiring minimum qualifications such as domestic helpers,
construction and factory workers for overseas countries, etc., and vacancies
for skilled professionals, such as high-speed sewers, nurses,
electricians/electronics and communications engineering graduates, caregivers
among others.
During the said job
fair, other services will also be undertaken which includes free
international calls for Overseas Filipino Worker friends, relatives and
interested job seekers, free haircut, free massage therapy services, one-stop
shop offering the services of the National Statistics Office, Bureau of
Internal Revenue, National Bureau of Investigation, Pag-IBIG, Philhealth,
Social Security Services and others.
Mayor Mauricio Domogan
encouraged jobseekers and unemployed citizens to take this opportunity to look
for jobs that would best suit whatever skills or educational attainment they
have.
“Jobseekers must come
prepared with several copies of their resume and other necessary photocopied
credentials and must come properly attired in anticipation of an interview,
since some companies will immediately administer exams and interview those who
pass these exams right after the scores are tabulated”, said the mayor.
Domogan advised the
applicants not to submit original records to the Recruitment Officers, other
than the application letter. -- JhoArranz
