Ex-bocap, 3 others nabbed for shabu

SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union
-- A 66-year-old former barangay captain
known as a notorious drug pusher and three others were arrested by
anti-narcotics agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in separate
anti-drug operations in Ilocos Sur and La Union last week.
PDEA
Director General Arturo G. Cacdac, Jr. identified the suspects as Renato C.
Tengsico, alias Atong, of Barangay Poblacion Norte, Santiago, Ilocos Sur;
Dondon Guerrero, 34, of San Isidro,
Candon City, Ilocos Sur; Marian Daguim, 24, of San Francisco, San Fernando
City; and Melchor Lorenzo, 36 of Rubio, Galimuyod, Ilocos Sur.
On
August 29, joint elements of PDEA regional office under Director Jeoffrey C
Tacio, Santiago Police Station and Ilocos Sur Provincial Anti-Illegal Drug
Special Operations Task Group implemented search warrant issued by Sixto Deompac
of Branch 72, Regional Trial Court Narvacan, Ilocos Sur at Tengsico’s residence
at Barangay Poblacion Norte, Santiago.
The operation resulted
in the arrest of Tengsico and the confiscation of shabu.
Tengsico,
a three-term barangay captain, was arrested in March 2003 for illegal drugs
However, cases filed
against him were dismissed. He was also arrested in October 2003 for illegal
drugs the case was dismissed after he served two years and three months in
jail.
Meanwhile, on
Sept. 1, joint elements of PDEA regional
office 1, Anti-Illegal Drug Special Operations Task Group and San Fernando City
Police Station conducted a buy-bust operation at Barangay Cana-oay, San Fernando
City, La Union which resulted to the arrest of Guerrero, Daguim, Lorenzo and
Salingbay after they agreed to sell of shabu to a buyer.
Seized during
the operation were three shabu and P5,000 used as marked money.
