Revenge eyed in slay of town exec’s nephew

TUGUEGARAO CITY – Police are eyeing vengeance behind the killing of a nephew of the municipal administrator of Gamu town in Isabela on Tuesday.

Onofre Lacerna Jr., 28, nephew of former vice mayor now municipal administrator Nestor Lacerna, was about to park his tricycle when he was shot from behind by a lone gunman.

Lacerna died at the scene from two gunshots to the head.

Town police chief Senior Insp. Calixto Labang said the victim was set to attend a court hearing for a homicide case when he was killed.
