New Baguio b’gay execs take oath

BAGUIO
CITY - Newly elected sangguniang barangay officials here
for 2013 to 2016 of the 128 barangays took their oath last week at the Baguio
Convention Center.
The
76 incumbent punong barangays were given another term to serve their
constituents and the city.
Out
of the 76 incumbent PBs, there were 14 unopposed incumbent PBs. They
are Wilbert Ponce of Andres Bonifacio, Clarence Domilies of Camdas Subdivision,
Aurora Abellera of City Camp Proper, Michael Lawana of Lower Dagsian, Magdalena
Lambac of Greenwater Village, Soriano Palunan of Happy Hollow, Timothy Pudlao,
Jr. of Kias, Benjamin Macadangdang of Lourdes Subdivision Extension, Ignacio
Gallente of Middle Quirino Hill, Andres Remorque, Jr. of Upper Q.M., Murphy
Bugtong of Middle Rock Quarry, Maribel Cagalawan of South Drive, Miguel Kiswa
of Sto. Tomas Proper, and Grace Kelly of Sto. Tomas School Area.
The
PBs took their oath before Mayor Mauricio Domogan while the barangay kagawads
took their oath before Rep. Nicasio Aliping, Jr.
Vice
Mayor Daniel Farinas said the oath
taking is a symbol of accepting responsibility as government officials.
He
reminded the new set of barangay officials to separate personal and public
interest.
“For
the sake of public service, you should sacrifice your personal interests,” he
said.
Aliping
meanwhile appealed to the barangay officials to instigate peace, reconciliation
and good public service in their respective barangays. “You should
serve with utmost honesty, sincerity and integrity,” he added.
Domogan said
in order to improve and develop a barangay, it is important to have teamwork by
being united with the barangay officials and eventually supported by the
constituents.
“The
key to progress in order to achieve your goals is teamwork and unity,” said
Domogan.
The new set
of barangay officials will assume their office this Dec. 1. -- JhoArranz
