BONTOC, Mountain Province
-- The Department of Trade and Industry is inviting small and
medium entrepreneurs (SMEs) to participate in the Mountain Province Craft
Exposition set Dec. 9 – 18 at the provincial plaza here.
DTI OIC
provincial director Juliet Lucas said this year is the silver anniversary (25th
year) of the Craft Exposition in the province with the theme, “Growing further,
getting better: SMEs stirring the growth of local economy.”
This
yearly craft exposition aims to give opportunities to local entrepreneur
participants to promote and sell their products and services, and also to
prepare them for bigger trade fair
venues.
This
is celebrated with the intent to
showcase best products that Mountain Province can offer to its consumers
and to present new product innovations
from exhibitors.
Lucas said
this year’s craft exposition is targeting some 50 local exhibitors and has also
invited exhibitors from other provinces to participate to showcase their unique
products except for furniture, woven products, coffee and wine since there are
local SMEs in the province who engaged in such trades.
Exhibitors
are required to pay participation fee of P2,000.00 for furniture and for
corporate services; P1,000.00 for gifts/decors/ house wares; P1,000.00 and
power consumption for food service; and P750.00 for processed foods.
The DTI
will also sponsor a press conference as one of the highlights of this activity
which will be conducted on the opening of the fair at 2 p.m. of Nov. 9 at the
DTI provincial office.
Main topic
would be micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) development in Mountain
Province.
Panelists
include members of the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Council
consisting of line agencies and sectoral representatives and media.
According
to Mabel Banggawan of DTI, another activity included in this exposition is the
conduct of Diskwento Caravan to be participated by business people and
wholesalers of discounted goods.
