Travel firm owner lands in jail for illegal recruitment, estafa
LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Police nabbed a man wanted for several cases of illegal recruitment and estafa  identified as Leon Dao-asen Dep-et, 32, of Guinzadan Central, Bauko, Mountain Province here July 5  at Barangay Betag km 6.

Dep-et is facing charges for five counts of illegal tecruitment with no bail recommended issued by the Regiona;l Trial Court  Branches 7 and 60, in Baguio City and Branch 47, in Urdaneta City, Pangasinan.

He was also charged for syndicated illegal recruitment with no bail recommended issued by the RTC Branch 32, in Agoo, La Union; and three counts of estafa from said courts in Urdaneta and Agoo with a total recommended bail bond of P56, 000. 

Based on police reports, the victims applied in the Visiaidy and Travel Consultancy Agency of the suspect who collected their fees last year and went into hiding until his capture.

Murder suspect arrested
BANGUED, Abra – Police arrested a murder suspect in Abra identified as Bobby Medrano Gulam, 44, widower, unemployed and resident of  Baybayatin,  Collago, Lagayan at Miki Moto Panciteria here  in Zone 3 morning of June 26.

Judge Corpus B. Alzate, presiding judge, RTC-Branch 2, Bangued, Abra recommended no bail for his temporary liberty.

Carnap suspect cornered; out of Tabuk jail in a jiffy
TABUK CITY, Kalinga -- Kalinga’s most wanted carnapping suspect – ReynoldSalibad, 35 – was “in the bag” after the Kalinga Highway Patrol team led by Senior Insp.  Robert Dumallig cornered him Monday afternoon.

But not for long as Salibad was able to post a P200,000 bail for carnapping and another P100,000 for his robbery case.

Salibad, who faces robbery and carnapping cases, was nabbed around 1 p.m. Monday in front of the provincial hospital, here.

Nurse nabbed for selling shabu
BAGUIO CITY -- A registered nurse was arrested July 3 around 2:30 a.m. at Zola Bar along Fr. Carlu Street here after he sold shabu to a member of the City Anti-Illegal Drug-Special Operations Task Group who posed as buyer.

Police identified the alleged pusher as Henry Perez Medina, 31.

Confiscated from him was 0.69 rams of shabu worth P1,000 and P1,000 peso bill used as buy bust money.

The seized items were turned over to the PNP Regional Crime Laboratory at Camp BadoDangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet for examination while the suspect was subjected to a drug test even as charges were prepared against him.

PDEA, cops arrest emerging leaders of Ifugao drug group 
LAGAWE, Ifugao -- Drug Enforcement Agency and police elements arrested Wednesday alleged leaders of a drug group here.

Marlon Nadugo Bruno, 43 and Oliver BantiyanGalut, a.k.a. Oliver Dulnuan, 30 were arrested when anti-narcotics agents implemented simultaneously search warrants issued by Judge AnastacioAnghad of the Regional Trial Court, Santiago City, Isabela at their respective residences in Cudog, Lagawe, Ifugao.

Seized from Bruno were three sachets containing shabu, a Cal. .45- pistol with six bullets.

Galut yielded four plastic sachets, drug paraphernalia, cell phone, Cal. 38 pistol and several bullets.

Police said Bruno and Galut were leaders of a drug group operating in Ifugao targeting users from Lagawe, Lamut, Hingyon and Kiangan town of the province.

They are now detained at the Lagawe police station while cases for illegal drugs were prepared against them.

P1 million marijuana uprooted in Ifugao
TINOC, Ifugao – Around 5,000 fully grown marijuana plants valued at P1 million were uprooted and destroyed by lawmen in a plantation here July 6.

No cultivator was arrested during the operation witnessed by barangay officials Geraldo S. Buclol and Juanito Habungan.

Aside from town police, those who participated in the operation were  Ifugao Intelligence personnel, and narcotics agents.

Studes nabbed for stealing from foreigners, coeds  
BAGUIO CITY -- Two young men were arrested for taking the personal belongings of Rita Imogen Ekberg, 25; Anna Georgie Remond, 26, both Australian volunteers including Lauralei Palisoc Henry, 32, and Katrina Ann Martin Garcia, 21, student, inside the SPADE Bar, Crown Legacy Hotel along Kisad Road here night of July 6.

The arrested suspects were named as Mark Gester Cudiyen Rillera, 24, student of Data Center, a resident of Bonifacio St., and Zaizer Rillera Beltran, 19, of Honeymoon Road.

Confiscated from their possession were cell phones, IDs, four wallet containing cash of P21, 000.00 and other gadgets which they reportedly took from their victims inside the bar.

Waiter jailed for rape
BAGUIO CITY -- A waiter of a hotel along Kisad Road here was arrested night of July 3 for allegedly raping and taking the cell phone of the victim at Lower Phil-Am here.

The victim and her cousin reportedly met suspect Arni Padama, Abella, 23, a native of Pogocuac, Burgos, Pangasinan when they were at the hotel.

While drinking, the victim felt dizzy and lost consciousness then woke up naked with the suspect lying beside her in a dark room.  

Police recovered the victim’s phone in possession of the suspect.

Young man nabbed for carnapping
BANGUED, Abra – Police arrested Bryan Abaoag Gupaal aka “Brainon Salibungay,” 23, of Poblacion Malibcong town in the province for carnapping.

Gupaal was nabbed at Sinalang Checkpoint, Ubbog-Lipcan, Bangued evening of July 6.

The victim reported to police that his red motorcycle was stolen while parked inside the compound of Gavanes residence.

Police were conducting checkpoint when they spotted and flagged down the motorcycle.  

Upon verification, the suspect failed to show papers of ownership, which resulted his arrest.

5 top most wanted persons in Cordillera nabbed
CAMP DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet – The five top most wanted persons  in Benguet and Kalinga were recently arrested. 

Senior Supt. Rodolfo Azurin, Jr., Benguet police director said they  arrested Benguet’s No 1, 4 and 10 TMWPs for the 3rd Quarter this year including Mankayan’s TMWP.

Benguet Intelligence personnel and Atok police nabbed Benguet’s No. 1 TMWP, Doro KibatoyTaplin, 53, farmer and a resident of Abiang, Atok, Benguet in Barangay Adaoay, Kabayan, Benguet July 4 for rape case.
Judge Francis A. Buliyat Sr., of the Regional Trial Court Branch 9, La Trinidad, Benguet recommended bail of P120,000 for his temporary liberty.

For the same offense, Tuba police and Benguet PPSC nabbed the No. 4 TMWP, Robert Siblawan Remiendo a.k.a. “Ambot” ,35 a resident of Shilan, La Trinidad, Benguet in Palina, Taloy Sur, Tuba, same day.

Judge   Danilo P. Camacho of the RTC, La Trinidad issued his warrant of arrest for two counts of rape.

Mankayan police also arrested the No. 10 TMWP, Neil Eugene PakikiChumacog, 34, farmer, in his residence in Pukitan, Paco, Mankayan, July 4 for robbery.

Bail of P48,000 was set by Judge Jonathan Chavez Segundo of the Municipal Trial Court of Mankayan, Benguet for his temporary liberty.

Chumacog and his six other companions forcibly entered the stock room of the Lepanto Mining Company and took over P100,000 worth of cyanide last year.

Two of his buddies of his buddies were arrested while four others were at large and being hunted by the police.

Mankayan’s No. 7 TMWP, Jimson Sugot Abuac, 28, miner and a resident of Guiwe Street, Poblacion, was also arrested July 4 along Cervantes Road, Poblacion, Mankayan.

Judge Agapito K. Laoagan Jr. of the RTC Branch 64, Abatan, Buguias, Benguet issued his warrant with bail set at P30,000 for theft.

Abuac and his buddy who was arrested for another crime reportedly ransacked a grocery store in PoblacionMankayan and took grocery items worth P30,000 pesos in 2012.

Abuac was released when his case was dismissed recently by said court.

On the other hand, Kalinga’s  No. 4 TMWP  charged for robbery with homicide and robbery with frustrated homicide with a recommended bail bond of P120,000 based on warrant issued by Judge Marcelino K.Wacas of  RTC, Branch 25 BulanaoTabuk City, Kalinga was arrested July 4.  

Senior Supt. Victor K. Wanchakan, Kalinga police director named the suspect as Oliver Din-angNgalot, 42, of Purok 6, Bulanao, Tabuk City who was nabbed by the combined elements of the Kalinga Police Provincial Office and Intelligence personnel of the region. 

Other wanted persons who were arrested: Arthur Bastian Lopez, 40, carpenter, a native and a resident of Pukitan, Paco, Mankayan, for acts of lasciviousness; Domingo Tamayao, 54, who was arrested in his residence at Purok 3 Patagueleg, Peñablanca, Cayagan for malversation of government property with no bail recommended and a carpenter identified as Tony Quias Binabise, 42, of Lipay Norte, San Gabriel, La Union who was arrested for rape in Panayaoan, Loo, Buguias, Benguet with no bail recommended.

Three cornered for estafa
BAGUIO CITY --   Three suspects for estafa were recently locked-up in jail here.

One was identified as Vivian Gagno Pagalan, 38, of  Dontogan, Green Valley. Bail of P100,000 was set for her temporary liberty.

Ireneo Lang-odan Dolinte, 42, truck driver, of  Poblacion La Trinidad, Benguet, who was also arrested at Farmer’s Center in Puguis, La Trinidad.

Julie Villanueva, 42, of San Luis, Baguio City, was also arrested in San Luis, Baguio City.

Tricycle driver nabbed for stabbing buddy inside bar
BANGUED, Abra -- A tricycle driver was arrested June 3 around 1:30 a.m. for stabbing his drinking buddy in front of Celebrity Videoke bar and restaurant along Capitulacion Street, Zone 2 here due to misunderstanding and drunkeness.

Senior Supt. VirgilioLaya, Abra police director named the suspect as Jaypee Tanora Querido, 28, of Pangal, Danglas town while the victim was named as Jeffrey Florendo Millare, 30, farmer, of Bolbolala, La Paz municipality.
Police said the victim and the suspect, together with a certain June Beltran, were having a drinking session inside the establishment when a heated argument ensued between the victim and the suspect which led to a fist fight prompting the suspect to draw his knife stabbing the victim on his back.

Millare was rushed to the Abra Provincial Hospital for medical treatment while Querido was arrested and recovered from him was the Batangas knife used in stabbing incident.

Army trains new CAFGUs in Kalinga  
TABUK CITY, Kalinga -- The Philippine Army in the province is now training about  120 applicants to the Civilian Auxiliary Force Ground Unit (CAFGU) to beef-up its counter-insurgency force.

77th Infantry Battalion (IB) Commander Col. Francisco Millari reported the training is taking place at their camp in Barangay Bantay, here.

As part of the screening, the Army took background investigation of each of the applicants to assure their loyalty to the constitution as Army auxiliary force. 

Their integration to the AFP must not be due to some adventure other than to serve the country and the Filipinos with sincerity and commitment to duty, Milliari said.

The 120 applicants will undergo training on basic military combat and  will be inculcated strict military discipline.

After qualifying with all the requirements, the new CAFGUs will be deployed in the Army’s area of operation in the province.

As incentive, CAFGUs who earned good record and performance in their duty are given recruitment priority in the Army. -- Larry Lopez  

Farmer taken for theft
BUGUIAS, Benguet – Police here nabbed Redentor Cayat, 18, farmer, a resident of Tagpaya, Magmagaling here who was charged for theft.

His arrest warrant was issued by Judge Agapito Laoagan of the Regional Trial Court.

More suspects arrested
CAMP Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet -- Suspects for various crimes were arrested in the Cordillera last week.

Enero Gaong Alejandro, 33, laborer, was seized in his residence in Fidelisan, Sagada, Mountain Province for lascivious conduct with recommended bail of P180,000.

Marbien Awit Agapito, 54, widow, businesswoman, resident of N. 960, Bilbao St., Tondo, Manila,  was caught at Justice Hill, Poblacion, La Trinidad, Benguet, for violation of Batas Pambansa Bilang 22 with no bail recommended.

Rodel Agustin Sabedra, 29, jobless of  Karikitan, Conner, Apayao, was arrested at the Commission on Elections Office of Conner for violation of RA 9262 known as Violence against women and their children (VAWC).

Police regional director Cordillera Director Isagani Nerez said  more wanted persons in the region would soon be arrested due to concerted police efforts.

A 48-year-old  miner identified as Roberto Cato Mondero was also in his residence in Km 19, Ambassador, Tublay, Benguet. A recommended bail bond of 40,000 pesos was set for hi temporary liberty.
A minor, suspect of a rape case was recently taken into custody by Bauko town police in Leseb, Bauko, Mountain Province. Joseph Agustin, 24, was arrested in Interior Honeymoon, Baguio City for robbery with homicide.

Patrick Suagen Bucang, 18, out of school youth, was arrested in his residence at Victoria Village, Baguio City for physical injuries.

Jennylyn Bawit Bariwan, a resident of Sitio Banneng, Calaccad, Tabuk City was also nabbed  at Marina Mall, Dagupan, Tabuk City, Kalinga.

Nhica Subido Castro, a resident of Upper Rock Quarry, Baguio City, was apprehended at SM Luneta Hill, Baguio City for theft.

Lynnie Antonette Gayawet Vino, 36, businesswoman and a resident of Eagle Crest Village, Bakakeng, Baguio City, was arrested along Yandok St. Baguio for swindling.


Regional police director Chief Supt. Isagani Nerez said arrest of wanted persons especially top most wanted individuals was one of their major accomplishments.
