BAGUIO CITY -- A
driver was sent to jail after he was arrested for running over a 6-year- old
girl here along Upper Magsaysay Avenue night of Nov. 28.
The suspect identified
as Jordan Kilongan Mokyat 28, resident of Tenerace San Vicente, was
driving a passenger jeep and allegedly
stopped when he gave way to a pedestrian crossing the street when the
jeep moved forward and accidentally bumped and ran over the victim who
sustained serious physical injuries.
The driver brought the
victim to Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center but she succumbed to
injuries same day. Mokyat was arrested by personnel of Police Station 5.
Man wanted for rape of 5-year-old niece nabbed
PARACELIS, Mountain
Province – After five years of hiding from the law, a man was arrested here at
Poblacion Dec. 1 for raping his 5-year-old relative -- neighbour on 2009.
Chief Supt. Isagani Nerez
regional police director identified the fugitive as Conrado Kayo
Manangbao a.k.a. Lakay, 23, farmer, of Balinsiyagao, Pasil, Kalinga.
He was arrested by
members of Regional Intelligence Division , Regional Intelligence Unit,
Paracelis and Pasil police stations , Mt. Province Provincial Public Safety
Company and Kalinga Police Provincial Office.
Judge MarcelinoWakas,
presiding judge of Regional Trial Court,
Branch 25 in Bulanao, Tabuk, Kalinga recommended no bail for his
temporary liberty.
Miner charged for robbery with violence
LA TRINIDAD, Benguet –
A miner charged for robbery with violence and intimidation of
persons was arrested here at km 5 Central Pico night of Dec. 1.
Provincial police
director Senior Supt. Rodolfo Azurin, identified the wanted person
as Walter Yangyang Mosuela, 19, of
Barangay Lubas here.
Walter mauled and
robbed the victim on June this year while walking along km 5 here.

Camacho, acting presiding judge of RTC La Trinidad, Benguet, recommend bail of
P100,000 for his temporary liberty.
Man lands in jail over cell phone
LA TRINIDAD, Benguet
-- A man charged for theft is now in jail here after he was arrested in
Poblacion, Bakun, Benguet on Dec. 2.
La Trinidad police
head Chief Insp. Radino Belly said suspect Marvin Atiw Casingin, 33,
laborer, of km 26, Caliking, Atok, Benguet was arrested by his men.
Prior to his arrest,
Marvin was caught by the victim stealing her cell phone inside her backpack
while walking along Balili Bridge at km 6, La Trinidad January last year.

Demot Mariñas, presiding judge of RTC Branch 8, La Trinidad, recommended bailof
P20, 000 for the suspect’s temporary liberty.
Ex-NBI personnel nabbed for homicide
CAMP DANGWA, Benguet –
A man wanted in Manila for homicide was finally arrested by police after he was
caught hiding in his residence at Barangay16, Samonte St., Laoag City
on Dec. 2. .
The joint personnel of
Cordillera Regional Intelligence Division, Laoag City Police Office, and cops
from Manila arrested Rodrigo Ventura Bangi, 56, a former employee of
National Bureaau of Investigation-Manila.

Medina, presiding judge of RTC, Branch 18, National Capital Region, Metro
Manila recommended no bail for the suspect.
NPA couple surrenders in Abra
TUBO, Abra -- Tired of
hiding from the arms of the law, a couple, members of the New People’s Army,
surrendered without firearms here Dec. 2.
Senior Supt.
Albertlito Salvador Garcia, Abra police director identified surrenderees as Robert
AlimbuyugenArciaga, 19, of Caloocan City and Rochelle Calantay Alem, 18,
both residents of Barangay Amtuagan, Tubo and medical officers of the NPA’s
Team UNO of the 3rd Squad of the Kilusang Larangang Guerilla Montes.
Before joining
the NPA, Arciaga was reportedly an active member of Anakbayan, Caloocan Chapter
and was recruited on Dec. 2012. He was designated as vice team leader of
NPA’s LERIO Team in Mt. Province until 2013 and later joined the group
AMBAG.
He had undergone
trainings on combat and “Araling aktibista.”
He said during his stint in the group he had no participation in any atrocity.
The surrender of the
two rebels was made possible through effort of Tubo mayor Gilbert Ballangan and
Insp. Rodolfo Tubadeza, Tubo police chief.
Businessman cornered in buy-bust for shabu
LA TRINIDAD, Benguet
-- A businessman was jailed after he was arrested in a buy-bust operation
here in km 3, Barangay Balili by town police and narcotics agents.
La Trinidad police
director Chief Insp. Radino Belly identified the suspect as Tommy Agoac Ladiocan,
42, of Kapangan, Benguet and resident
here of Balili.
Confiscated from him
were shabu and P1, 000 buy-bust money.
Abatan barangay treasurer arrested for illegal drugs
BUGUIAS, Benguet --
Another suspect of illegal drugs was arrested at a checkpoint along Halsema
Highway here in Barangay Bangao by police Dec. 2.
Supt. Jonathan Calixto
who led the team identified the suspect as Hisam Palada Eban, 27, driver
of Loo, Buguias who was flagged down while riding a motorcycle.
Confiscated from him
were shabu; drug paraphernalia, twocell phones, P980 and ID card
as barangay treasurer of Abatan, Buguias.
A case for illegal
drugs was filed against him.
Auto shop worker stabs man at disco parking lot
BAGUIO CITY --
An auto shop helper landed in jail after he was nabbed for stabbing a disk
jockey at Monroe Disco Bar parking lot here along Bokawkan Road Nov. 30.
Victim identified
as Ryan De Guia Dizo, 32, of Purok 2, Lower Pinget, Baguio City had a
heated argument with the suspect identified as Jess
ArbigosoArenos, 21, of Iloilo City, and resident of Purok 27, Quezon Hill
Extension when suddenly the latter stabbed him twice on his back.
The victim was
immediately brought to BGHMC for medical treatment while the suspect was
arrested by responding personnel of Police Station 2 who recovered the knife
used.
Mason stabs driver, female civil engineer
BAGUIO CITY – A man
was locked in jail for stabbing a couple inside the Sizzling Toppings
Videoke Bar at Otek Street, Baguio City night of Nov. 29.
Prior to the incident,
the victim identified as Johnsen Mendoza Ventura, 32, driver, resident of
Marcos Highway here with his girlfriend Phoebe Fangkingan Malafu, 27, civil
engineer, resident of Sumulong Street, Baguio City and Gemmuel Gumpad Daria
were having a drinking session when the suspect identified as Aldrin Henry
Yadyadoc Taryachen, 20, mason, resident of Sadanga Betwagan, Mt. Province and
his friends entered the said bar.
Daria went to the
comfort room and was mauled by the companions of the suspect.
Malafu was about to
pacify them when the suspect brought out a kitchen knife and stabbed her left
hand while Ventura was stabbed three times on his back.
The victims were
brought to BGHMC for medical treatment while Taryachen was arrested by the
members of Police Station 7.
Man hacks drinking mate
TABUK CITY, Kalinga --
A hacking incident took place in Barangay Talaca here afternoon of Nov.
28.
Victim Jonie Cabiano Novalez
33, with the suspect identified as Rogelio Cabiano Novalez 37, both
residents of Agbannawag, Tabuk were having a drinking session in the barangay
when misunderstanding ensued between
them that led to hacking incident. The victim sustained a deep wound in his left
foot and a cut on his left body and was brought to the hospital for medical
attention while the suspect was arrested by responding personnel of Regional
Public Safety Battalion and barangay officials.
Apayao drug suspects nabbed for shabu,
guns, bullets
CALANASAN, Apayao
--Senior Supt. Robert Galardo, said town police, Apayao Provincial Public Safety Company and
narcotics agents successively implemented search warrants Nov. 28 arresting two
drug suspects and confiscating drugs, drug paraphernalia, firearms and
ammunitions.
Confiscated in the
residence of Cornelio BulsaoTubang, 37, farmer at Don Pedro, Barangay
Poblacion were: three pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets
containing suspected shabu; six pieces of empty plastic transparent
sachets with suspected shabu residues; assorted drug paraphernalia and shotgun.
In the residence
of Jonathan Ngisit at Barangay Tubongan, seized were shabu, drug
paraphernalia and two pieces detonating cord.
Firearms, ammunitions
and illegal drugs were also confiscated at the residence of Bello
BalananBulsao, 52, at Barangay Poblacion.
Seized were M16 rifle,
Cal. 45 pistol, 9mm Armscor pistol, shotgun, 459 rounds of ammunitions for Cal.
5.56, and M16, 120 rounds of bullets for Cal. 45/M16; 12 bullets for 9mm
among others.
During the operation,
Bulsao and Tubang were arrested. Ngisit is still at
large.
The arrested suspects
together with the confiscated/seized items were brought to Calanasan MPS for
documentation prior submission to PNP Crime laboratory for examination.
Nurse arrested at SM Baguio for firing gun
BAGUIO CITY – Police
arrested a nurse for accidentally firing her gun inside the CRS Office at
SM, Luneta Hill, Baguio City and failure to present necessary documents to
possess the said firearm evening of Nov. 29.
Arrested suspect
identified as Meryll Ospick Wacangan, 27, of Sabangan, Mountain
Province, and resident of IC 52, Betag, La Trinidad Benguet was
required to clear her firearm at the safety clearing box when she
accidentally fired her caliber .45 pistol bearing serial
number B1005915.
Responding policemen arrested her and confiscated her firearm with one magazine containing nine rounds of ammunition and recovered one empty shell of fired bullet.
Bocap, citizen surrender guns
FLORA, Apayao – A
concerned citizen turned over a shotgun and buckshot rifle to angued police while a
Caliber .38 with four bullets was turned over by barangay captain of Malubibit
Norte, Flora, Apayao to cops.
Lumber confiscated
LA TRINIDAD, Benguet
-- Asssorted lumber were confiscated Nov. 30
here after a concerned citizen informed the police about the presence of
illegal logging in their place.
Twenty-two
pieces of pine lumbers were recovered in Barangay Tawang by police
while nine pieces of lumber worth around P3,500.00 were found abandoned
at the pathway of Block 26, National Housing Authority Tadiangan, Tuba, Benguet
by the personnel of Tuba police.
Recently, 15 pieces of
illegally cut Mahogany and Gmelina logs in different dimensions worth around
P4,500 were recovered at Deppey, Tinongdan by the personnel of Itogon witnessed
by barangay officials.
10 cops awarded
for anti-crime accomplishments
CAMP DANGWA, Benguet -- Ten uniformed and non-uniformed personnel of the Police Regional Office were cited for their accomplishments which highlighted the regular Distinguished Visitor’s Program here at the Police Regional Office-Cordillera.

Manlongat (Ret.) PSSLAI board of trustee, graced the occasion as guest of honor
and speaker.
The program was
highlighted with awarding of ten personnel. Medalyang Papuri was
awarded to Senior Insp. Paul Digmagman, Insp. Melenium Bantas for neutralizing
criminal elements.
Same award was also
bestowed to the members of the PRO-COR Peacemaker Band for demonstrating
enthusiasm and exemplary devotion to their task during the “Ang Galing ng Pulis”
Battle of the Live Bands Part 2. Their untiring efforts and unwavering
commitment to showcase their individuals and collective talents earned praises
and inspiration among the listeners leaving an imprint in the hearts and minds
not only on our police personnel but for the people of Cordillera.
Manlongat expressed thanks to regional police director Chief
Supt. Isagani Nerez and congratulated awardees.
In his speech,
he said that members of the Public Safety Savings and Loan Association, Inc.
(PSSLAI) can now easily avail of loans through the agency’s e-Loan
(electronic loan) services, the latest product scheme using digital technology.
“Securing a loan is
now easy and convenient to members of PSSLAI with our
e-Loan”, he said, adding that applicants just have to call or
send a text message to have their loan application and withdrawal processed but
first of all they must be a member of the PSSLAI.
He urged other members
of the Police Regional Office-Cordillera who have not yet joined the PSSLAI to
enroll and enjoy the benefits of savings.
He said PSSLAI
has the lowest so far among similar financing firms in the country,
offering 11percent interest per annum.
