Malolos, Bulacan mayor awed By Tadian town Ayoweng fest

TADIAN, Mountain Province – This town’s Ayyoweng di Lambak Ed Tadian festival was held here last week with the building of “binangi (traditional house)” by representatives from the 19 barangays.

Speaking at the launching of the 7th Ayyoweng di Lambak Ed Tadian with background of the construction of the ‘binangi’, Tadian Mayor Anthony Wooden cited participative oneness of the community in building the traditional house.

Malolos Bulacan Mayor Christian Natividad known for exemplifying cultural governance, was guest speaker during said event which awed him. 

With theme,”ayyoweng ya lambak di i-Tadian, mangiwaned si sumikaan”, the festival portrayed intertwined “melodies of culture” in the building of the “binangi”- an organic way of life that guides the community to development.   

 A major activity of the  festival was the holding of the Sokob di Ayyoweng with the community enjoying lunch together, apart from the conduct of  indigenous and indigenized games participated by delegates from the 19 barangays of the town and the agro-industrial fair.

Asked on commercialization and accommodating interested investors during press conference here, Wooden said the community will be the one to determine what is good for them.

Real estate developer and businessman lawyer Alexander Bangsoy who hails from Tadian was guest of honor for this year’s festival celebration.

Tadian abounds with a rich culture and natural resources potential for eco-cultural tourism and enchanting phenomena as the enchanted eel of Cagubatan and healing water of Kayan.

 The municipality of Tadian is connected to Ilocos region by Aluling Bridge serving as gateway to the west. 

 The P97 million Guinzadan to Cagubatan road is being constructed with funds from the convergence tourism road projects of the Department of Public Works and Highways and the Department of Tourism.

A continuation of the road to Banaao is designed to reach tourism attractions of Gawaan Lake and Mount Mogao in the Sunnyside area of the town.

The proposed continuation of a P300 million road project targetted to reach the adjoining route to Balili Mankayan; Benguet has reached congressional committee hearings for the necessary deliberations for funding for 2016 budget.
