Married man hunted for rape of
13-year-old
ALFONSO
LISTA, Ifugao – A married man is now being hunted by police for allegedly
raping a 13-year-old female.
A
police report said at about 5 p.m. of Aug. 6, one Nena Palingit Daus, 45,
married, housewife, of Purok 2, Barangay Kiling here reported to police her
daughter was raped by a certain RegieBacali, 30, married, and a resident of
same place.
Investigation
disclosed on May 13, at around 11 p.m. when the victim was sleeping inside
their house, she was awakened when she saw the hand of the suspect at the
window. The victim went out that prompted the suspect to drag and bring her at
the back of Kiling Elementary School, located near their house and raped her.
The suspect fled after the incident. Victim was brought to the Municipal Health
Unit, Sta Maria, AlfonsoLista for examination then later brought to Socail
Welfare Office for counseling.
Miners trapped in Itogon tunnel
ITOGON,
Benguet – Two miners were trapped inside a mine tunnel here in Antamok, Ucab
Aug. 6.
Police
identified them as Jonas Isang, 24, single, and Eddie Latigo, 50, married, both
were miners, and residents of Tram, Ucab.
Investigation
disclosed that the victims were conducting mining operations in the area when
the incident happened. Joint personnel of Itogon police and Itogon Emergency
Rescue Team conducted rescue operation.
Bontoc worker hit by
boulder; dies
BONTOC,
Mountain Province -- A certain Arthur King-awa Padchonga, 48, of
Sitio Mag-ew, Bontoc Ili here, was hit by a boulder coming from a cliff while
excavating a foundation for riprap near the Ateoan residence here in Barangay
Caluttit around 1:40 p.m. Aug. 6.
As
a result, the victim died due to internal hemorrhage Victim was brought at his
residence.
Old, separated man stabs
daughter-in-law
BAGUIO
CITY -- A separated man identified as Roger Cayetano So, 76 allegedly
stabbed his daughter-in-law named Bernadette Condes So, 42, married, housewife,
both residents of said place.
Police
said the incident happened Aug. 5 at about 3 p.m. here at Camia Cottage, DPWH
Motor Pool Compound, Upper Engineers Hill.
Police
investigation disclosed the victim was sleeping when she felt someone was
stabbing the left side of her body and as she turned around, she saw the
suspect stabbing her.
When
the suspect tried to stab her again, she was able to prevent him from
inflicting further harm until her neighbors came and grabbed the knife from the
suspect. The suspect was pacified but he still kept on threatening to kill the
victim.
Responding
personnel of Police Station 3 arrested the suspect and brought him to police
station while the victim was rushed to Baguio General Hospital and Medical
Center, Baguio City for treatment of her injuries. Case was readied for inquest
proceedings.
‘Dead or alive’ song starts trouble,
stabbing
BAGUIO
CITY – A case for frustrated homicide was lodged against a Man here for
allegedly stabbing his victim here Aug. 5 at Mandom Videoke Bar, Rajah Soliman
St.
The
victim identified as Gayban Cotcoto Tabao-ican,
29 and resident of Pico, km 5, La Trinidad, Benguet was reportedly stabbed by
Albert Feraro Gal-od, 33, farmer, resident of Rajah Soliman St.
Investigation disclosed
that prior to the incident, the victim was drinking alone inside the said bar
when the suspect passed by who came from other videoke bar and allegedly argued
with another customer.
At
that instance, the victim reportedly uttered “Agkantaak man ti dead or
alive” (Let me sing Dead or alive) that made the suspect confront the
victim until a heated argument ensued between them that resulted to a
fistfight.
Both
were pacified by the owner of the bar, Susan Manguardia Oliva so the suspect
went out to avoid further trouble. However, the victim followed the suspect who
went back inside the bar and continued their fistfight. The suspect suddenly
brought out a folded knife (balisong) and stabbed the victim.
As
a result, the victim sustained stab wounds on his body and was rushed to
hospital for treatment. The suspect tried to escape but he was immediately
arrested by responding personnel of Police Station 7 and was brought to the
police station.
Farmer nabbed for shooting man who
flooded ricefield
TAYUM,
Abra -- A farmer was arrested here Aug. 6, for shooting a fellow farmer he
confronted for reportedly putting too much water on his newly-plowed rice
field.
A
police report said the incident happened at SitioCulibeng, Barangay Deet. The
victim was identified as Melito BarrogaTejero, 44, while the suspect was named
EustaquioTejero Escalante, 65, both residents of said place.
Investigation
disclosed that the victim was plowing his rice field when the suspect arrived
and At this juncture, a heated argument ensued that prompted the suspect to
draw his firearm and shot the victim but missed. The victim ran way and
reported the incident to police who went to the area and arrested the suspect
and brought him to town police station.. A case is being prepared against the
suspect for filing at the Prosecutor’s Office.
Drunk man attacks victim in boarding
house
ATOK,
Benguet -- A man, under the influence of liquor, reportedly entered the
boarding house of his victim and without apparent reason, attacked him with a
bolo here about 9 p.m. August 6.
The
victim, identified as Marcelo W. Bocal, 31, farmer of Nueva Vizcaya sustained
hack wounds on his fingers and head as he tried to parry the bolo wielded by
Freddie D. Caila, 28, farmer of Ambaguio, Nueva Vizcaya.
Bocal
was rushed to Atok Benguet Hospital by his neighbors and later transferred referred
to Pines Doctor’s Hospital, Baguio City.
The
case was amicably settled.
Jealousy drives man to stab farmer
STA.
MARCELA, Apayao – A certain Hannibal Cardenas Bayani, 36, farmer was allegedly stabbed here about 4
p.m., Aug. 6 with a sickle by John Dela Cruz Rivera, 45, farmer, both residents
of Barangay Bangyan, Abulug Cagayan.
Police
probe bared the suspect and victim were harvesting coconut when Rivera suddenly
stabbed the victim on his cheek because of jealousy. The victim was brought to
Far North Hospital, Luna, Apayao for medication and was released after the
treatment. The suspect voluntarily surrendered at Sta. Marcela police.
Mystery hounds ‘carnap’ of Mitsubishi
Montero
ITOGON,
Benguet – Mystery hounds a Mitsubishi Montero, owned by one Nena Camolo Caccan,
45, married, of Upper Mangga here which was reportedly carnapped here July 28
but the incident was only reported about 3 p.m. on August 6,
Caccan
told police her Mitsubishi Montero (AAU-4701) was stolen while being parked
unattended in front of her residence. She reportedly parked her vehicle at
around 8 a.m. of July 28 and left their house. However, when she returned home
at about 1 p.m. of same date, she discovered that the vehicle was already
missing. Efforts were conducted but prove futile. Case is under investigation.
Phone lands man in
jail
BAGUIO
CITY – A man landed in hail for allegedly stealing the cell phone of a certain
KeziahLaureen Villanueva Casem, 18, student, resident here of Padre Zamora St.
Investigation
disclosed Casem was walking at the
I-shaped overpass along Mgsaysay Ave. when the suspect identified as Noel
Domalig Gangan, 30, of Tapaw, West Quirino Hill here took Nokia cell phone
worth P4,000 of the victim inside her bag. During the incident, a patrolling
officer noticed the incident that resulted to the arrest of Gangan. Suspect was failed while a case was
prepared against him.
Pickpocket victimizes coed; nabbed by
sergeant
BAGUIO
CITY – A pickpocket followed a young woman about 10:30 a.m. August 6, at the
parking space of McDonald’ Fast Food, Assumption Road here, discreetly opened
her shoulder bag and took her cell phone inside.
Police
identified the victim as Susan Manis Bistoguey, 18, of La Trinidad, Benguet,
a nursing student of University of Baguio.
A
certain Sgt.Marlon Buccat reportedly saw the incident and arrested Wax Cabarloc
Castillo, 33, single, construction worker, and a resident of Bacbacan, Asin
Road, Baguio City.
Gun lands man in jail
BUGUIAS,
Benguet -- At about 8:15 p.m. of August 6, police received a telephone call
from concerned citizen informing them a man was in possession of a handgun at
Bacoling Compound, here at Barangay Abatan.
Police
arrested the suspect identified as Mariano Gabino Soriano, 56, married, miner,
resident of Suyoc, Mankayan, Benguet.
Confiscated
from Soriano was Cal. 38 revolver loaded with two bullets. The suspect and
confiscated items were brought to Buguias police station while case for illegal
firearms was prepared against him.
Cops nab man with gun
PIDIGAN,
Abra -- At about 12:20 p.m. of Aug. 6, police received phone call from
concerned citizen informing them a male person was in possession of a handgun
here in Poblacion West.
Police
arrested Reynaldo Elvena Magannon, 42, resident of Barangay Ubbog, Lipcan,
Bangued.
Confiscated
from the suspect was a Cal. 45 handgun loaded with eight bullets.
Carabao lands two men in jail
FLORA,
Apayao -- Two men selling a carabao without pertinent documents here were
nabbed Aug. 6 after police received phone call from Barangay Balasi chairman
Romeo M. Calip.
Police
arrested Edwin Omengan Lagimun and Kevin M. Oandasan.
Investigation
disclosed said carabao owned by Nanding Ocampo of Kapannikian, Allacapan,
Cagayan was stolen by the arrested persons. Suspects were brought to Flora
police station for investigation.
Man arrested for attempted rape
TINOC,
Ifugao – Police arrested a certain Jackson Bastian Mariano, 22, and a resident
of Barangay Poblacion here Aug. 6 for attempted rape.
Judge
Rufus Malecdan of Regional Trial Court Branch 9, La Trinidad, Benguet issued
his arrest warrant with a recommended bail bond of P120,000.
Man arrested in restaurant for theft
BAGUIO
CITY – A man was arrested here Aug. 6, 2015 at Good Taste Restaurant, Dangwa
Station here by Itogon, Benguet police for qualified theft.
The
suspect was identified as Narry Salao Sibaen, 31, of jm4 Balili, La Trinidad,
Benguet.
Judge
Ivan Kim Morales, of RTC Br 8, La Trinidad, Benguet issued warrant for his
arrest with bail set at P46,000. Suspect was brought to Itogon police station.
Young men nabbed for theft in
resort
ITOGON,
Benguet – Two men were arrested for theft Aug. 6, 2015 at Carlo Trese Resort
here by personnel of Hingyon, Ifugao police.
Arrested
were Randy Pilor Celiz, and Rogelio Ruiz Contavo, both 19 and residents of
Nueva Vizcaya.
