SSS analyst files charges against security officer 
BAGUIO CITY—A senior analyst of the Social Security System has filed charges of falsification of documents against a security officer here on Monday.

Senior Supt. Rolando Miranda, OIC chief of the Baguio City Police Office said, Judalyn Imbat Bergonia, 38, married, employed as senior analyst and administration officer in charge at SSS Baguio Branch along Harrison Road here filed case of falsification of public documents against Lyndon Bayanes Bangsoyao, 34, married, security officer from Radiant Security Agency and resident of Purok 14A UP Village, Irisan here.

Investigation disclosed that Bangsayao went to the SSS Office and submitted all documents for the business permit renewal of the Radiant Security Agency, it was at this point that Bergonia checked all the documents submitted by Bangsayao and found out that one document was allegedly faked.

The faked document was a copy of the SSS R-5 Employer Contribution Payment Form.

The form was held as form part of the evidence for the complaint. The case is ready for inquest proceedings.

Koreans face attempted murder charges for trying to kill peer 
LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Police reported a case of alleged attempted murder involving Korean nationals at MB-223-A Longlong, Puguis here around 6:45 p.m. Oct. 11.

The victim was identified as Sung Bo Cho, 63, businessman, and resident of said place. One of the suspects was identified as Jeon Dae Won, staying at Daebok Building along Kennon Road in Camp 4, Tuba, Benguet.  

Investigation revealed Cho and his friend, Jaekyung Lim had a drinking session in Buyagan, Poblacion, La Trinidad and at 6:44 p.m. of same date, they were ferried home by their friend. When Cho entered their gate, he saw Won together with his six companions who were already inside his compound and without any provocation Won punched him several times at the face while his companions held his hands. While punching, Won told Cho that he will kill him and instructed his other companions to kill him. When Won and his companions were forcibly dragging him on the road, their neighbor, Gilbert Labuyan pulled him near his residence but still Won and his companions followed them which prompted Labuyan to call immediately the police for assistance.  Won and his companions hurriedly left the area on board a vehicle. Investigation showed the night before the incident, the victim received  text messages from Won that he will kill him.

Businesswomen lose money to lending firm’s manager 
BONTOC, Mountain Province – Three businesswomen filed here Tuesday complaints for estafa at police station here against a certain Mark Joshua B. Gomez, 38, alleged area manager of Cebu Micro Finance Corporation (CMC) based at 114, Car-Car, Cebu City.

Complainants were identified as Carmelita Esmale Malabong, 42, Mymy Margarette Bantic Blas, 35 and Carmelita Facullo Chumapoy, 44,  residents here. Investigation revealed complainants applied for loans at the alleged Branch Office of Cebu Micro Finance Corporation (CMC) managed by the said suspect located at second floor of Tad-awan Building here and were required by the suspect to deposit a certain amount before they could claim their loans. Chumapoy and Blas deposited P3, 500.00 each while Malabong deposited P7, 000. The deposits were recorded in the Cebu Micro Finance Corporation’s blue-colored passbook issued to them by the suspect. The suspect informed them that their loans would be released on Oct. 10, but the suspect failed to show up on said date and fled taking with him their money.

PWD falls in sting operation
CAPAS, Tarlac – Physical disability pushed a polio victim to turn to illegal drugs for a living.  Philip Siapo Sosa, 38, of Barangay Sto. Domingo II was arrested during an illegal drugs buy bust operation Wednesday.  Sosa is a polio victim who walks around in crutches.  Supt. Jesus Rebua said Sosa was arrested when he sold a sachet of shabu to a designated police poseur buyer. Two plastic sachets of shabu were confiscated from him. Sosa said that despite his physical disability, he was gainfully employed as a barber for more than 20 years, but lost his source of livelihood three years ago when he fractured his left arm after a bad fall. Czeck national steals French lady’s gadgets 
TADIAN, Mt. Province -- Lucy Helen Nenot, 22, French national, complained at police station here that a certain Jan Kubiczk of Czeck Republic stole her expensive gadgets about 8:34 p.m. Tuesday. A police report said the incident happened at Layog’s farm located at Sitio Amkido, Kayan West here. Investigation disclosed Nenot recently became friends with Kubiczk during their stay at the farm for vacation. While they were outside the cottage, Kubiczk complained of stomach ache and went to their cottage. However, he never came back after taking the following items belonging to Nenot: laptop (Mac book) with charger worth 1,200 Euros, cellphone (Wiko) worth 400 euros and
P 6,000 cash.

Driver files complaint vs live-in partner for theft
LA TRINIDAD, Benguet -- A case of alleged theft was reported to police here by complainant, Ronaldo Sueno Amistad, 30, driver and residing here at FE-126-A Stone Hill, Balili against suspect Juliet Limliman, vendor, of Bonglo, Paoay, Atok, Benguet.

Investigation disclosed the complainant and suspect became live-in partners for two weeks last month. The suspect had duplicate keys on the main door of his boarding house. The complainant left his boarding house at about 7:30 a.m. Tuesday and drove his passenger jeep. At about 12:10 p.m. of same date, he received text message from the suspect asking why he was not answering her calls and saying that she will get her remaining clothes at his boarding house. When the complainant went home at a few minutes later, he found boarding house was opened and clothes of the suspect were gone including cash he hid beneath the pillow amounting to P15,000.

US fugitive falls
CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga – Police arrested a 68-year-old American national wanted for grave threat during a manhunt operation in Barangay Dau, Mabalacat, Pampanga, Thursday.  Chief Supt. Rudy G. Lacadin, acting Central Luzon police director identified the arrested suspect as David John Myrand, temporary residing at No.10049 Flordeliz St. Barangay Dau, Mabalacat.  Lacdin said that the suspect was arrested at around 10 a.m. on the strength of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Irineo P. Pangilinan, Municipal Trial Court (MTC) Branch I in Angeles City. 

Cops find guns in man’s house  
LAGANGILANG, Abra – A man was arrested here Tuesday after cops searched his house and found illegal firearms.

This, after Raphiel F. Alzate, presiding judge, RTC, Bangued, issued search warrant at residence of Marjun Quiray Sebastian in Barangay Aguet. Confiscated were three shotguns and various bullets for different guns. The search was conducted in the presence of barangay officials.

Farmer dies after truck hits him; another hurt  
LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – A case of reckless imprudence resulting to homicide was filed against a farmer for hitting two victims with his Isuzu pickup truck about 11:06 a.m. Tuesday here SitioTili, Barangay Shilan.

Victims were identified as Cresencio Gabol Martin, 76, farmer of Lao-angan, Kapangan, town and Jerby Gaya Gomez, 27, employee of Tile Center located at the place of incident.

Investigation disclosed while Martin was crossing the street, he was ran over by approaching pick-up truck driven by Wilson Dinmogo Billao, 59, farmer, and a resident of Madaymen, Kibungan town. Afterwards, the said pick-up swerved towards the road shoulder and sideswiped Gomez.

Responding Tublay town police rushed the victims to Benguet General Hospital but Martin was declared dead on arrival by attending physician while Gomez was confined due to fractured right arm. Billao surrendered and is now detained at La Trinidad police station.

House razed to the ground 
TUBA, Benguet – A house owned by a certain Arnold Gaddang made of wood and galvanized iron sheets was razed to the ground here at Camp 6 around 11: 45 p.m. Tuesday. Case is under investigation.

Kalinga vice gov’s aide finds cadaver hear house
RIZAL, Kalinga -- A cadaver was found among thick bushes beside the national road here Barangay Romualdez about 10:20 a.m. Wednesday. Police found the male 5’6’ barefoot cadaver decomposing. It was wearing green polo shirt and short pants colored black, red and blue. Investigation disclosed that at around 9 a.m. that day, a certain Pulido Cayo Palugao, 24, caretaker of Vice Governor Jesse Mangaoang’s house at Romualdez, was checking the fence of the farm when he saw the  body. Cops buried it at Romualdez cemetery.

4 men arrested in Baguio drug sting
BAGUIO CITY– Four alleged drug traffickers were arrested in a sting in a village here on Monday night.

Jayson Mendoza, Dan Allen Abellera, Oliver Signey and Allan Mallare were collared after they allegedly sold shabu to undercover agents along Asin Road here at around 9:30 p.m.
Seized from the suspects were a handgun, 10 plastic sachets said to contain shabu with an estimated value of P45,000 and drug paraphernalia.

Aside from drug cases, the suspects will be charged with illegal possession of firearms, according to Senior Superintendent Jimmy Catanes, chief of the regional Criminal Investigation and Detection Group.

Murder suspect surrenders
ANGELES CITY – After six years in hiding, a suspect in a murder case in Capas, Tarlac surrendered last week after police assured him of his safety.

Allan Dizon Manayan surrendered after he was told that his two co-accused had been arrested and were unharmed, according to Senior Police Officer 4 Elmo Ngangac, chief of the Tarlac police tracking team.

Ngangac said Manayan and four others, including brothers Mariano and Marvin Quijano, were ordered arrested for the murder of a certain Ernie Galang in 2009 in Barangay O’Donnel in Capas.

The Quijano brothers were arrested in July. Mariano was collared in Gen. Tinio and Marvin in San Jose City, both in Nueva Ecija.

Ngangac said Manayan was accompanied by his sister Abelina Bautista when he surrendered to the police. – Ding Cervantes

Baguio’s 10 crime hotspots identified
BAGUIO CITY  – The Baguio City Police Office has identified 10 barangays as crime hot spots, during the City Justice, Peace and Order Committee meeting here. Senior Superintendent Rolando Miranda, city director, said barangays Legarda-Burnham-Kisad, AZCKO, Session/Gov. Pack Road, Irisan, Kayang-Hilltop, Upper Magsaysay, Kabayanihan, Kagitingan, Loakan Proper and Bakakeng Central were the barangays with high crime rate. He said according to data, the crime volume in the city has slightly increased from 7,556 on January to September last year to 7,574 in the same period this year.

Wanted persons nabbed in Cordillera
CAMP DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet – Police nabbed 17 wanted persons of which seven were listed as top most wanted persons in three days through the implementation of Philippine National Police’s Oplan Lambat-Sibat. Meanwhile, Chief Supt. Ulysses J. Abellera, regional director, last week led the implementation of six search warrant operations against people who kept unlicensed firearms where three homemade 12-gauge shotguns and hundreds of ammunitions were confiscated.

151 kilos of dog meat seized in Baguio
BAGUIO CITY – Some 151 kilos of dog meat were seized in a raid on four restaurants here Oct. 8.

Members of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, National Meat Inspection Service, Baguio City veterinary office and animal rights groups swooped down on the restaurants along Jacinto and Lakandula streets, said CIDG-North and Central Luzon chief Senior Supt. Jimmy Catanes. 

Republic Act 10536 or the Meat Inspection Act bans dog meat trade.

Catanes said the restaurant owners would face charges if they are caught selling dog meat again.

The illegal dog meat trade in Baguio and Benguet is estimated at millions of pesos.           

Seven Vietnamese fishermen released
LAOAG CITY, Ilocos Norte — Government authorities released last week seven Vietnamese fishermen arrested for poaching in waters off Currimao town, this province, last week.

After their arrest by the Philippine Navy Oct. 8, the fishermen were given medical attention then investigated by the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Bureaus of Immigration (BI), of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), and of Customs (BOC).

Chief Inspector Dexter Corpuz, Police Provincial Office (PPO) spokesman, identified the seven as Trian Brioe Bao, 34; Nho Xin, 39; Tran Minia Nhak, 17; Phan Gien Quoc, 38; Tran Quoc Tuan, 18; Dang Quoc Hung, 41; and Le Van Tho, 32, all from a blue-colored fishing vessel with Body No. BD97135TS.
The Vietnam Embassy in Manila was informed about their arrest and, through an interpreter, the Vietnamese fishermen explained they reached Philippine waters because they evaded tropical storm “Kabayan.”

Firm trainee chocked, robbed in front of school
BAGUIO CITY -- Two unidentified men choked then robbed Mark Anthony Sueño Aspillaga, 31, trainee of PhilPlans Company around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday here along Gov. Pack Road in front Baguio City National High School.,

Investigation disclosed that while the victim was walking at the place of incident, one of the men choked him, grabbed his backpack then passed it to his companion. The suspects took the victim’s Samsung Corby 2 worth P6, 000.00 and cash of P250.00 then ran towards the Tower of Peace.

Responding cops and the complainant scoured the area to look for the perpetrators who were nowhere to be found.

Four arrested in buy-bust operation
BAGUIO CITY – Cops arrested Jayson Mendoza, Dan Allen Abellera, Oliver Signey, and Allan Mallare in a buy-bust operation here along Asin Road. Confiscated from the suspects were a Cal .32 revolver loaded with three bullets, 10 sachets of suspected shabu valued at  P45,000, buy bust money, and assorted drug paraphernalia. Cases for illegal drugs and gun were prepared against the suspects.

‘Most wanted man’ in Cordi arrested for rape 
TINOC, Ifugao – Cops nabbed Monday a certain Martin Pigangay Lumauig, 52, farmer, here of Sitio Lebeng, Wangwang for rape after Romeo U. Habbiling, presiding judge of RTC, Branch 14, Lagawe, issued arrest warrant against him without bail. Pigangay was listed by cops as most wanted person in the Cordillera for the last quarter.

Kid killed after being hit by van
ITOGON, Benguet-- A case of reckless imprudence resulting to homicide was reported by police here at Keystone, Ucab involving a passenger van plying the Baguio-Gold Creek route, driven by Ducay Ayson Lanigan, 29 of Tram, Ucab. The victim was a minor and resident of Keystone.


Investigation disclosed the van was going towards Midas, Ucab, when the victim suddenly crossed the road and was hit by the driver side wheel of the vehicle. The victim was immediately brought to Saint Louis Hospital by a concerned citizen but was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending Physician. The body of the victim was brought to Saint Louis Morgue. The driver was detained at Itogon jail.
