22 million slated for Sagada BuB projects

SAGADA, Mountain Province -- The local poverty reduction alleviation team (LPRAT) of the local government unit of  Sagada  prioritized projects  worth P22 million to find listing  under the  Bottom Up  Planning for 2017 following  a meeting Nov 4.

The LPRAT, a  composition of  representatives from civil society organizations  and  heads of offices  in the respective LGU  approved seven impact  projects  for  endorsement to the  Regional LPRAT.

BuB menu for 2017 guidelines set  seven impact projects to guide LPRAT in setting the desired number of projects.

LPRAT-Sagada  participants noted  the P 22 million to be distributed for projects in five clustered barangays of  the municipality.

Eastern zone refers to the  barangays of  Antadao, Kilong, Tetep-an Sur and  Teptep-an Norte.  Central  zone refers Patay, Dagdag and Demang, south central referring to Ambasing and Balugan and  southern zone referring to Ankileng, Suyo, Taccong and Nacagang.

Said projects are  Saew to Madongo domestic waterworks for northern zone,  erosion control for Demang central zone and for the southern zone, Balugan drainage canal for  the south central zone, social protection center and Sangadan  access road for eastern zone and evacuation center for Poblacion central zone.

Physical  infrastructure referring to the social protection and evacuation center require deed of donation for the lot where structure shall be built if identified lot is not public property.

BuB listed project funds are sourced from  14 government agencies namely Department of Agriculture (DA), Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), Department of Environment and Natural Resources  (DENR) Department of Education (DepEd),Department of Energy  (DOE),Department of Health (DOH), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Department of Tourism (DOT),  Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI),  National Anti-Poverty Commission  (NAPC), National Commission on Indigenous Peoples  (NCIP), National Electrification Administration (NEA), and Technical Education And Skills Development Authority (TESDA).

The prioritized projects mostly to be funded from DILG  were initially identified during  an earlier  CSO general assembly held October 9.

Municipal DILG officer  Ray Fiarod said the amount of P2 million was added to the P20 million BuB fund recognizing the seal of good housekeeping and financial transparency of the Sagada LGU.  BuB beneficiary municipalities are each given P20 million project fund for 2017.

The  LPRAT chairmanship is  led by the executive officer- Mayor  Eduardo Latawan and co- chaired by elected  CSO vice chair  for 2017 Rhoda Besay
