TABUK
CITY – The Department of the Interior and
Local Government has ordered the suspension for 90 days of Kalinga provincial
board member Camilo Lammawin Jr. in connection with an extortion complaint filed
against him and his wife last year.
Sandiganbayan Third
Division Associate Justice Sarah Jane Fernandez served the suspension order
issued by DILG-Kalinga director Francisco Gamatero during flag-raising ceremony
at the capitol grounds here on Monday.
Lammawin and his wife,
Salud, allegedly extorted P520,000 from Rodman Construction and Development
Corp., the contractor for Tabuk City’s water supply works in exchange for the
release of the funding for the P2-million project.
The anti-graft court
rejected Lammawin’s petition appealing his suspension.
