4 men
arrested for mauling 2 in front of Baac residence
BULANAO, Kalinga – Four men were arrested
after they reportedly mauled two others in front of the Baac resident here
along the national Rd. at Purok 7, Barangay Bacras around 10 p.m. of April
3.
A police report sais
the men met at the area and had an argument resulting to the fistfight.Victims
were identified as Gerson Bun-as Baccao, 30, tricycle driver and
PangayPalutan Boyagan, both of Nambaran, Tabuk City.
Suspects were named as
Tata DaduliTumbaga, 23; Nonok Rosario Napi, 21; ArlosGelio Colongan, 20 and
Christian Gelio Colongan, 19, laborer both stay-in workers at Baac residence, all
of Novaliches, Quezon City.
When the victims
sensed that they were outnumbered, Boyagan ran away while Baccao was pulled
inside the Baac’s compound by the suspects together with his tricycle. Victims
sustained injuries in the different parts of their bodies and were brought to
Kalinga Provincial Hospital for medication while suspects were arrested and now
in custody of Tabuk police. Cases are being prepared against the suspects.
Cops
take slot machine in Bontoc
BONIOC, Mountain Province – Cops led by
Senior Insp. Peter T. Angyoda while on patrol chanced upon a slot machine
around 7:20 p.m. at Tudlong Building, Bontoc Ili. The slot machine was
voluntarily surrendered and was brought to Bontoc police station.
Chicken
dung porter stabbed
TUBLAY, Benguet -- A 56-year old chicken dung
porter was stabbed repeatedly by a fellow porter at the chicken dung trading
center here March 31.
Police investigation
disclosed that victim Carmelito Tobio Parao, 56, married, porter and a resident
of Cabanao, Shilan, La Trinidad, Benguet had a drinking session with
suspect Marson Sitim Kimayong, 30, married, porter and a resident of Tili,
Shilan, La Trinidad, Benguet and other companions when victim decided to go
sleep inside their rented quarters.
After a few moments,
the victim went back and advised the suspect and his companions to go sleep but
suspect was irked and stabbed him several times using a 7-inch kitchen knife on
his abdomen before leaving the crime scene.
The victim was
immediately rushed by his companions to the Benguet General Hospital for
medical treatment while responding cops arrested the suspect along Shilan Road.

‘Espiritistas’nabbed for
violation of PD 705
AGUINALDO, Ifugao –Police arrested three
members of “Espiritista” religious sect Tuesday for violation of Presidential
Decree 705.
Insp. Ruben B. Tamiray
arrested a certain Bando O. Salinat, 32, farmer and member of Espiritista,a. Jesse Haris B. Namujhe,
presiding judge of 3rd MCTC Alfonso Lista, issued warrant against him and
recommended bail of P8,000 for his temporary liberty,
Same day, Tamiray also
led a police team and arrested Rafael J. Abingwan y Jacinto, 34 of Halag Proper
after Namujhe also issued warrant for his arrest for the same offence recommending
same amount for his temporary liberty.
Boyet O. Bangachon, 22
was also arrested same day fro same offence with Namujhe recommending P8,000
for his temporary liberty.
Man
cooks breakfast; finds partner dead
BAGUIO CITY –The body of a certain Lolita
Ortega Enriquez, widow, 54, was found April 3, at about 4:30 a.m.a by her
live-in partner Paul Alcantara 52, laborer on their bed at their residence
here at Purok 4, Middle Quezon Hill.
Investigation
disclosed that Alcantara woke up to cook their breakfast and when he tried to
wake up the victim he noticed that the victim was not breathing so he tried to
revive her but to no avail.
He called 911
Emergency Response Team and at about 6:25 a.m.police responded and confirmed
the body had no pulse and heartbeat. The body was brought to BahayDamayan
Funeral Homes. Case is under investigation.
Miner
jailed for assaulting two Baguio police officers
BAGUIO CITY – A miner is now in jail for
hitting two police officers with fist blows here along Dagohoy St. around 11:20
p.m. April 2. SP02 Dominador Gumabay Santos and P03 Mike BentrezD epayso, both members of Philippine National
Police and presently assigned at Compac 3, Station 7, filed cases against
Rolando AgmayaoMacabeo, 20, miner, of
Acupan, Itogon, Benguet for assaulting them.
Investigation
disclosed the cops were patrolling when they observed Macabeo was shouting
while his companion was pacifying him. The policemen went near to them and
introduced themselves as cops and advised Macabeo to calm down but instead he
turned his ire on them, challenged them to a fist fight then attacked them but
he was held by his companion.
Macabeo freed himself
from his companion and further attacked the policemen with fist blows several
times as they parried it and stepped backward to avoid the blows. The policemen
then arrested the suspect and brought him to the Baguio General Hopspital and
Medical Center for examination. Macabeo was later brought him to Station 7.
City Prosecutor Edwin Bryan Sagsago ordered the transfer of suspect to the Baguio City Jail.
Two
men hunted for stealing trikes of Army personnel, civilian
TABUK, Kalinga – Two unidentrified men are
now being hunted for trying to sell two stolen motorcycles to a police officer
here April 3 around 11 a.m.
A police report said
Bulanao police responded to a report about a two unidentified male factors
selling two XRM motorcycles in Barangay Lacnog, Tabuk. But upon arrival of
responding personnel, the two suspects fled the area and left said motorcycles
upon sensing the person whom they were talking to was P03 Tony Banao, assigned Tabuk police station. The motorcycles
found to be registered to Froilan Loyd Palangdao of Purok-5, Bulanao, which was
reported stolen afternoon of April 1 while parked unattended along the
old Pasonglao Bridge by RomilPalangdao. The other motorcycle was owned by
Marites Cacbet Palanco, Philippine Army personnel and resident of Dalanao,
Paracelis, Mt. Province who reported her vehicle was missing midnight of April
3 at Sitio Aba Barangay Bantay, Paraceli. The motorcycles were released to
owners same day.
Construction
worker stabbed
BAGUIO CITY -- -
Rodrigo Acuhido Dumam-ag, 24, construction worker, and a resident at
Kayang St., Baguio City was hurt after his co-worker Rene Cadag, reportedly
stabbed him in front of an automobile shop along Abanao St. here March 31
Investigation
disclosed that the Dumam-ag and Cadag together with other companions had
drinking spree in an establishment in the area when they decided to continue
their session at victim’s residence.
However, while on
their way, a heated altercation between victim
and the suspect suddenly ensued that resulted into a fistfight. Both
were pacified by their companions.
Victim went out of the
building followed by the suspect who continuously confronted him forcing the
former to stab him several times on
different parts of his body.
The victim was
immediately rushed to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center for

Volante
Pizza worker loses motorcycle to thief
BAGUIO CITY – An employee of Volante Pizza
here lost his motorcycle to a thief when he parked the vehicle in front of the
establishment along Session Road here to work around 6 p.m. of April 3.
Police identified the
victim as Malvencio Padel Bondoc, 29, of Castillejos, Zambales.
Investigation
disclosed that the victim parked his motorcycle and went straight inside
Volante Pizza to work. When the victim went out to check his motorcycle later,
the vehicle was nowhere to be found from its parking space.
‘Cattle
rustler’arrested
in Abra
LA PAZ, Abra – An alleged cattle rustler was
arrested here by cops Monday. The suspect wsas identified as Ariel Galera,
22, unemployed, of Barangay Bulbulala.
He was arrested after Raphiel F. Alzate, executive judge of Regional Trial
Court , Branch 1, Bangued issued arrest warrant against him for cattle
rustling. Alzate recommended P36, 000 bail for his temporary liberty. He was
brought to the municipal police station where he was detained.

Pangasinan cops
reshuffled
LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – Thirty-eight police
officers who have relatives who are running for elective posts in Pangasinan
have been reshuffled.
Senior Supt. Edgar
Alan Okubo, Pangasinan police officer-in-charge, Thursday said the reorganization
would ensure that the police officers would not use their position to campaign
for their relatives.
“They were relieved
from their posts regardless of their position or rank to show that we are fair
and that the Philippine National Police is apolitical,” Okubo said.
He said the affected
police officers would assume their old posts only if their relatives win in the
elections.
Okubo said they would
also investigate complaints that some police officers are endorsing certain

Old
woman sideswipes teen without aiding her
BAGUIO CITY – An old woman is now being
hunted for sideswiping a female high school student and leaving her after the
incident. A police report said the incident happened about 12:45 p.m. of April
3 along the driveway of Pink Sister Church fronting the Church's entrance
here.
The victim was
identified as Angel Carmela Meria Cano,14, student of Quezon City Science High
School, and resident of Meycauayan City,
Bulacan. She was reportedly accidentally hit by the rear left tire of a wagon
type vehicle with plate number AHL 565, driven by the driver who left the scene
without aiding the victim. Cano’s ankle was hit
and she was brought by her mother Bernadette at SLU hospital for medical treatment. The
suspect vehicle’s plate number was relayed to authorities for apprehension.
Trucks
heavily damaged in Tuba
collision; one hurt
TUBA, Benguet -- A vehicular traffic accident
transpired around 8:10 a.m. of April 3
here along Marcos Highway at Viaduct, Badiwan. The vehicles involved were
Estrada pick-up truck driven by Jomar Gabutan Espiritu, 36, of Taloy Sur, Tuba,
Benguet; and Isuzu cargo truck driven by
Elgyn MangaliliRosete, 39, of Calipahan, Talavera, Nueva Ecija, and residing
here Richwood Subdivision, Dizon Manzanillo.
Investigation
disclosed the cargo truck loaded with vermin was proceeding towards Baguio City
when it lost its brake and collided with the pick up truck that was proceeding
towards La Union. As a result, the driver of the pick-up sustained minor injuries
and was brought by Tuba emergency personelto
Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center.
Trucks
collide; driver, helper injured
ATOK, Benguet – Two trucks collided here
around 6 p.m. of April 3 at Km. 39 Abiang resulting to injuries on a driver and
his helper. The vehicles involved were: an Isuzu Elf truck driven by Freddie Duyan, 35, of Shilan, La Trinidad,
Benguet with helper, Jin Palmanga, 23,
resident of same place and an Isuzu truck driven by Ebenezer CabalingTawaran,
30, of Lamagan, Abatan, Buguias Benguet.
Investigation
disclosed the Elf truck was proceeding
towards Baguio City while the Isuzu truck was proceeding towards Buguias. While
hile on a curved portion, the Isuzu Elf truck overtook another truck when it collided with the Isuzu
truck. As a result, the driver of the Isuzu truck and his helper sustained injuries and
rushed to Benguet General Hospital in La Trinidad, Benguet. The helper was
discharged after treatment while the driver is still confined. The driver of
the other truck was unhurt during the incident. Both trucks incurred damages.
Man
wanted for rape in Mt. Province arrested
LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – A man wanted for rape
and lasciviousness in Mountain Province was arrested here by cops March 27 around
7:30 p.m. here at Upper Kapnagan Village, Ambiong.
Chief Supt. Ulysses J
Abellera, regional police director identified the suspect as Anthony
Chopchopen, 36, married, of Sacasacan, Sadanga and resident of Barangay,
Laylaya, Besao, Mountain Province.
He was arrested by
cops of personnel of Regional Intelligence Unit, Regional Intelligence
Division, Mt. Province and La Trinidad. Judge A Patnaan of Regional Trial
Court, Branch 35, 1st Judicial Region, Bontoc, Mountain
Province issued arrest warrant against Chochopen for sexually abusing a
5-year-old girl in Laylaya, Besao on Nov. 6, 2015.
Young
man hunted for rape of 14-year-old coed
BAGUIO CITY – A young man identified only as
Jay-R is now being hunted for allegedly raping a 14-year-old student
around midnight on March 19 on complaint
of Ira Claire GatchalianBaongon, 37, married, teacher by profession in behalf of her 14-year-old daughter, Grade 8
student and resident of Barangay Dontogan.
Investigation
the victim did not go home since March 18
and reportedly went with her friends identified as May Joyce Sernadilla
and Kathryn Kate Lapitan in a house located at Purok 6, Dontogan and slept
there until the morning of March 19.
The next day, they
went to the Complex Center located at Green valley Resort, Dontogan, then went
back to Purok 6, Dontogan, and watched horror movies. At at around 10:30 p.m.
of March 19, five men including the suspect arrived at said house with two
bottles of Emperador Lights brandy and had a drinking session until midnight of
March 20. Victim claimed she was dragged by Jay-R and forcibly took her in a
room and removed her pants and undergarments after which he kissed her nape,
lips and then raped her.
Responding
personnel proceeded at the place of incident to locate the suspect but suspect
evaded arrest. The victim was brought to Baguio General Hopsital and Medical
Center for medico-legal examination.
Businesswoman
robbed while taking a bath
LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Some P28,000 worth of
items was stolen inside an apartment while the owner, a businesswoman went to
take a bath early morning of April 4.
Irene Quipot, 27, left
the main door open while her younger sister was left inside their room
sleeping. Mylene was about to get her charger insider her bag and that’s the
time they discovered that their bag was already missing.
Investigation revealed the still unidentified
suspects went inside the apartment of the complainants through the open main
door and once inside took the two sling bangs placed on top of the chair at the
receiving room then exited at the main door. Stolen was a cellphone worth
P25,000, passport, ATM card and cash amounting to P500. Also stolen from

Criminology
student caught with 6 blocks of marijuana
LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Around 11 kilos of
marijuana was confiscated from a 3rd year criminology student midnight of April
5 along the vicinity of an eatery here at Barangay Pico.
The six bricks of
marijuana were confiscated after cops chanced upon a group of persons who were
huddled in a dark portion of the alley with one of them holding a box acting
suspiciously upon recognizing the mobile patrol.
When cops approached
the group, they scattered away to different directions leaving behind the
suspect who was holding a box.
The patrol officer
checked the carton and found it was full of marijuana bricks. The student and
confiscated items were turned brought to the police station. – KC Bautista

building robbed by 4 minors
LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – A commercial building
was found ransacked by four male minors around 3 a.m. of April 3, a CCTV camera
showed.
According to Marcial
Campos, owner, businessman, residing at Senly Loy Building, at km 4, his
nephew, Randy Simalong, arrived at said store and found out that the accordion
main door was slightly opened, the lights inside were still off and when he
peeped inside there were no people, prompting him to immediately contact Marcial.
Investigation revealed
suspects gained entry through the main door by forcibly removing its three
padlocks and once inside took the cash and coins amounting to P12,000 in the
cashier’s drawer. They exited at the same door after taking away the money. The
CCTV footage showed suspects entered at 3 a.m. and left after 10 minutes. –

officer’s house robbed by burglar
LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – The house of a jail
officer was ransacked last week by an unidentified female who took around P40,
000 worth of items.
Stolen items included
ACER laptop worth P16,000 pesos, Samsung cellphone and a Canon camera worth
P15,000.
According to the
victim, he received a call from his wife that their child texted her about a
female person who allegedly went inside their house and got their laptop.
Initial investigation disclosed the female person as described by their child
was wearing white jacket, gray maong pants, black bull cap with white markings
and slippers who went inside the second floor of their house and while inside,
she went to the master’s bedroom and got the laptop and phone. The camera was taken at the sala.

starts deploying 500 new cops in Central Luzon
CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Central Luzon started
deploying 500 new police officers this month after they finished training, a
top official of the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) said.
Supt. Enrico Vargas,
PRO3 Personnel and Human Resources chief, said the new recruits completed rigid training by April 5 and their
deployment to various provinces and cities in the region started for another
five months of on-the-job training (OJT).
During their OJT, the
500 men and women of the police force will undergo a one-month assessment of
their personality, mental, and physical capability.
Chief Supt. Rudy
Lacadin, PRO3 director, assured that all this batch of new police officers also
underwent a thorough screening of their records to avoid what happened in the
past in which a number of rookies were found to have submitted fake credentials
such as school records and civil service eligibility documents.
A known
disciplinarian, Vargas said the new batch of police officers will be thoroughly
screened and assessed before being given regular status as members of the

5 Ifugao
police units receive Silver Eagle Award
MAYOYAO, Ifugao -- Five police units in the
province received the Silver Eagle
Award for effectively implementing the Philippine National Police PATROL Plan
2030.
The Ifugao Provincial Public Safety
Company (IPPSC), and the municipal police stations of Alfonso Lista, Kiangan, Mayoyao, and Banaue
received the Award
conferred by the Police Regional Office Cordillera (PRO-COR) for
receiving a rating of more than 90%
in the Compliance Stage of the
Performance Governance System (PGS).
Other police stations
like Aguinaldo, Asipulo, Hingyon, Hungduan, Lamut and Tinoc also passed the
compliance stage of the PGS.
Earlier, the Ifugao
Provincial Police Office (IPPO) and Lagawe MPS received the Silver Eagle Award
and certification respectively.
The Silver Eagle Award
is given to police units with 90-95% performance rating. 96 -100% is conferred the Golden Eagle Award.
75% is considered passed.
Police Inspector Pedro Tactay of the IPPO
information office explained that the full support and assistance of the
Provincial Advisory Council and the Municipal Advisory Council contributed much
to this achievement.
The P.A.T.R.O.L Plan
2030 is the roadmap to transform the PNP into a more capable, effective and
credible police service. It involves four stages: Initiation; Compliance;

‘Barker’
runs away with association’s P15,000
BAGUIO CITY- A “barker” took off P15,000
funds of a jeepney drivers association and has not returned to work since then
prompting ElpidioBaniqued, 68, treasurer of City Camp Jeepney Driver’s
Association to file complaint against him.
Baniqued said he
tasked Renato Bondoc, barker of the association to collect the P30 daily fees
of drivers of the association which Bondoc collected. Baniqued left for Manila
so he was not able to get the money. When he returned, Baniqued asked Bondoc to
remit the money but the latter said he left the money at La Union so the victim
decided to get it the on March 31. Bondoc collected the P15,000 and has not

Man
mauled by taxi driver
BAGUIO CITY- A man was injured after being
hit by a taxi driver at Upper Session Rd., here around 11:45 p.m. April 4.
Investigation
disclosed victim JunardYaco, 33, and his friends had a drinking session and
decided to eat. They boarded a taxi at Marcos Highway and asked the taxi driver
the best restaurant to eat bulalo. The victims were conversing but because they
under the influence of liquor, they were talking so loud making the driver
irritated prompting an argument.
When they reached
Upper Session Road., Yaco and his friends got out of the cab. The driver also
went out holding a tire wrench then smashed the victim on his head and

Man
robbed while sleeping
BAGUIO CITY- A man was robbed while sleeping
at a mini park here around midnight of April 3.
Victim Bremie Castro,
49, installer technician of Sense Lead Electronics Company at Manila said, he
and his friend had a drinking spree at his friend’s house located at Magsaysay
Avenue here. After they consumed a several bottle of gin Castro decided to go
home by foot. As he passed by a mini park in-front of Baguio City Hall, because
of his drunkenness he decided to sit on one of the benches until he fell
asleep. The victim was surprised when he woke up because the front pockets and
the back right pocket of his pants was slashed using a sharp instrument.
