Jeep falls down Itogon ravine; 1 killed, 2 hurt

ITOGON, Benguet – A miner was killed while two others were seriously injured when the  Willis type jeep they were riding in fell down a ravine here Monday at Goldfiend, Poblacion   around 6:40 a.m.

A police report identified the driver as Manuel Comising, 57, of Poblacion. His two passengers were named as Roy ChioteKiange, 26, of Barangay Dalupirip, Itogon and Lander Sukao, of Barangay Lawigen, all in Itogon.

Investigation disclosed that the vehicle was about to make a U-turn when the driver avoided a stone at the right side of the road but miscalculated causing his vehicle to fell down the 7-meter ravine.

The victims were rescued and rushed to Baguio General Hospital for medical treatment. However Lander Sukao was declared dead by attending physician while being treated.

Comising and Kiange were confined at the hospital.
