Landslide buries man alive in Ifugao town

HUNGDUAN, Ifugao – A man was buried alive by a landslide here Thursday around 3 p.m. at the compound of the Bokiawan Elementary School.

Police identified the victim as Nestor Rivera Dumincel, 60, of Baretbet, Bagabag, Nueva Vizcaya.

 Investigation revealed the victim was making a tie beam for a riprap foundation under a 2-meter excavation when a huge landslide suddenly came down from above around six meters high and totally covered the victim with stones and soil that resulted to his death.

Co-workers of the victim and concerned citizens immediately brought the victim to Hungduan Municipal Hospital but he was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
