CL has highest list nationwide of 43 ‘killed’ by cops 

A TOTAL of 48 illegal drug users in Cordillera turned themselves in to police last week while seven suspects were arrested Tuesday in Baguio bringing to 24  number of persons recently  nabbed in the region for drugs.

Ilocos’ top drug suspect shot dead
In Ilocos Norte, the top drug suspect was shot dead in in Paoay town Wednesday night.
          Raymund Weil Pobre, alias Tonton, 35, was pronounced dead on arrival at the Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital and Medical Center.
Pobre was standing in front of his house when an unidentified man who arrived in a black sedan shot him, said Chief Inspector Dexter Corpuz, Ilocos Norte police spokesman.
Seven bullet shells for an M16 rifle were recovered at the scene.
Corpuz said Pobre was ranked eighth on the list of drug personalities in Ilocos Norte.

Bulacan top drug suspect nabbed
In Bulacan, the top drug suspect was arrested on Wednesday after his wife reported his illegal activities.
Senior Supt. Caramar, acting Bulacan police chief said Rico Manzano was collared in an entrapment operation.
Two sachets of suspected shabu were drug paraphernalia were recovered from the suspect.

16 surrender in Baguio
In Baguio City, cops and narcotics agents conducted buy-bust operation at Asin Road, Sunset Junction, San Luis Village Tuesday that resulted to arrest of Bridgeton Castillo Caoile, 40. Confiscated items from the suspect were shabu, P3,000 cash and cellphone.
This, as about 16 individuals admitted using illegal and selling illegal drugs due to poverty and surrendered themselves to their barangay captain in Lourdes Extension.
The daily reports  on media of the death of people involved in illegal drugs was a key factor that convinced them to cooperate with the police in the campaign to stop the illegal drugs trade,  authorities said.

Italians, companions nabbed with marijuana
In another incident, cops responded to a reported nuisance at No. 250 Ambuclao Road, Tip top, Gibraltar. Incidentally, police noticed several pots of suspected marijuana plants at the veranda of said address.
Cops arrested the following suspects: Tania McDonald Turco, 38, female, Italian; Zhen McDonald Turco, 19, Italian; Retz Ferrer Castillo, 18; Allen Rey EstosaniGalus, 18, and Vincent Brillantes Del Val, 18.
Confiscated from the house were several potted marijuana plants and green bowl containing dried leaves.
This, as Central Luzon had the highest kills of 40 suspected illegal drug pushers and users nationwide.
Chief Supt. Aaron N. Aquino, the new Police Regional Office 3 said last week he would also kill policemen and mayors protecting drug syndicates in Central Luzon.
“I’ll kill them all whether they are policemen or mayors if they are engaged in illegal drugs or protectors of this illicit trade,” Aquino said.

2 persons dead in Tarlac shootout
In Tarlac City, Mercy Alo and her unidentified cohort were killed in a shootout with police in Barangay Nicolas in Tarlac City on June 26, said Senior Supt. WestrimundoObinque, Tarlac police officer-in-charge.
          Obinque said the suspects were involved in illegal drug operations in Tarlac City and nearby towns.

Cagayan bocap, 3 cohorts arrested
In Cagayan, a barangay chairman and his three cohorts were arrested for selling 30 kilograms of shabu estimated to be worth P150 million at a beach resort in Claveria.
Marzan Victor Tumaneng, 56, of Barangay Centro 4; Edgardo Almazan, Robert Cainguitan and Alfred Salvosa were collared on Tuesday.
Derrick Carreon, director of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Cagayan, said the suspects face charges for violation of Section 5 (sale of dangerous drugs and Section 26 (conspiracy to sell) of the Dangerous Drugs Act.

7 kidnapping, robbery suspects gunned down
On June 22, seven kidnapping and robbery suspects were gunned down following a shootout with the police in Pampanga.

Apayao farmer shot dead
Meanwhile, in Santa Marcela, Apayao, unidentified gunmen shot dead a farmer, in what is considered the first casualty in a supposed drive against drug personalities in the Cordillera.
Marlo Guillermo Labbao, from Barangay Malekkeg, was on his way home aboard his vehicle when two armed men ambushed him at the boundary of Santa Marcela and Sitio Ayaga in Barangay Lucban, Abulug in Cagayan province.
Labbao sustained several gunshot wounds and did not reach the hospital alive.
Crime scene investigators found 13 spent slugs of Cal. 45 pistol, a transparent drug tooter, mobile phone, Cal. 45 pistol  with magazine loaded with ammunition, a heat-sealed sachet containing approximately 1.4 grams of shabu and P4,475 in cash.

32 Cordi drug users surrender
This, as Cordillera police spokesperson Supt. Cherry Fajardo said the 32 drug users surrendered during drug symposium conducted by police at barangay hall of Suyoc, Mankayan town on June 27 attended by barangay officials headed by their chief Lardo S. Camolo. 
Drug users signed a document as sign of their sincerity not to be involved in illegal drugs and signified their willingness to be referred to rehabilitation centers and be released later.
Drug users said they voluntarily surrendered to police since they feared for their lives once Duterte assumes office.

5 nabbed in buy-bust ops
Meanwhile, in buy-bust operations, cops nabbed five drug suspects in different provinces June 27.
Joint operatives of Buguias, Benguet cops and Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Kalinga arrested the following suspects inside Bea’s Videoke Bar at Dalog Building, Upper Abatan, Buguias afternoon of said date: Aileen Dionisio “Bea” Aligo, 32, businesswoman, of Ud-udan, Ampucao, Itogon, Benguet and manager of the Bea Videoke Bar; Jordan Ganasi Landisan, 31, of Bulalacao, Mankayan, Benguet and Elvis Canuto Begay, 26, farmer of Tagpaya, Buyacaoan, Buguias. 
         Seized from their possession shabu worth P4,000, buy-bust money of P1,000 and additional shabu in sealed sachet worth P1,000..
Abra drug traders nabbed
In Abra, two drug traders were arrested same day to cops. Nelson Perisona Bilgera, 31 was nabbed at Barangay Palao, Bangued.  Confiscated from his possession were shabu, cellphone, marked money amounting to P500 and cash of P400.
 Jannette Timbreza Alzate, 35 was nabbed at Calaba, Bangued, in front of Abra Provincial Jail night of said date.
Confiscated from her possession were shabu, drug paraphernalia and marked money amounting to P500. 
Baguio agent locked in jail
In another operation in Baguio City, suspect identified as Mark Yu Ong, 38, marketing agent, a resident of Banaue Avenue, Quezon City, was locked up in jail after he was caught in possession of illegal drugs same day in inn at Abanao St. Extension, Rizal Monument Barangay. Seized from him were 1.5 grams of shabu, drug paraphernalia and wallet.
In Kalinga, Monday at  Barangay Dagupan Centro, police arrested Laurence Duclan Romero, 48 for illegal drugs.
Marcelino K. Wacas, presiding judge, Second Judicial Region, RTC Branch 25, Bulanao, Tabuk City issued his arrest warrant and set bail of P200,000 violation of Republic Act 10591 and recommended bail of P120,000 for another case.

17 nabbed in Baguio
In Baguio City, police conducted 13 operations first five months this year resulting to the  arrest of 17 persons and confiscation of illegal drugs.
         Supt. George Daskeo, city police director, reported during recent the City Human rights, Justice, Peace and Order Council at City Hall that aside from the arrest of 17 persons, confiscated in the 13 operations were   total of 54.34 grams of shabu and marijuana leaves weighing 57.40 grams.
“In coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Cordillera and the cooperation of barangay officials and the private sector, we were able to gather sensitive information that support us in our execution of our job,” Daskeo said.
Mayor Mauricio G. Domogan, chairman of CHRJPOC, said “Our city is a tourism and educational center that is why it should be free from illegal drugs; we can attain this if we all do our part in the fight against all unlawful activities.”
He called on the residents to report to the nearest law enforcers or authorities any suspicious characters and activities being done in your barangay, while parents should at all times know the whereabouts of their children for their safety. – With  reports from Raymund Catindig, Ramon Efren Lazaro and Joseph  Zambrano
