Awards of the other two business establishment awardees will be given during the flag raising ceremony of the Tadian and Bauko local government units.
Lucas said this was the third group of business establishments that received the Bagwis seal bringing to seven the awardees in the province.
The Bagwis seal symbolizes durability and safety of all products sold by these establishments and it also signifies value for money.
This award is given to establishments that strictly adhere to various consumer laws, give quality customer care to their clients and have established consumer welfare desks.
The Bagwis Seal, formerly known as the DTI-Certified Business Establishment Program, has three levels of award: Gold, Silver and Bronze. Supermarkets, department/specialty stores, appliance centers, hardware stores, and DTI accredited service and repair shops are qualified for the seal once they meet the given requirements.
For bronze award, the business establishment must comply with Fair Trade Laws such as compliance with the Price Tag Law, Philippine Standards and Import Commodity Clearance marks for mandatory products, warranties (as applicable), provide discount to senior citizen (if possible), reasonable prices of commodities, comply with the provisions of “No Return, No Exchange” policy, do not practice misleading sales acts, and calibrated weighing scales and correct kg. weights of commodities sold per kilogram; and the presence of a Consumer Welfare Desk or a recognized customer service center that will entertain consumer complaints and come up with compromised resolutions within the day.
To earn a silver award, the establishment must meet the bronze requirements   and must have social responsibility program. And for gold seal, the establishment must achieve the silver requirements and some elements aligned to ISO 9001 like Quality Management System, Management Responsibility, Customer Focus, Management Review, Resource Management, Product Realization, and Measurement, Analysis and Improvement.
Lucas urged Bronze awardees to upgrade silver award. She said more establishments should strictly comply with consumer laws and improve customer care to qualify for the awards.
