Tublay b’gay treasurer robbed of P123,000
LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – A barangay treasurer of nearby Tublay town was robbed of P123,000 here along the national highway at the exit of the La Trinidad Trading Post beside the Shell Gas Station  by around seven  persons Monday around 11:40 a.m.  
A police report identified the victim as Angeline MabliAlos, 53, treasurer of Barangay Ba-ayan, Tublay.
The victim told police she encashed four Dept. of Social Welfare and Development checks for the salary of laborers from the project of government agency’s KALAHI-CIDSS welfare checks at Land Bank along km 5, Betag, La Trinidad, around 11 a.m.  and placed the money inside a brown envelope and kept it inside her blue backpack. At about 11:40 a.m., she walked toward km 5, Pico, La Trinidad and was followed closely by five unidentified female suspects with two minor companions.
When she reached the exit of La Trinidad Trading Post, two of the female suspects walked alongside her while the other suspects in front of her distracted her attention. The victim stopped at a stall near Shell Gasoline Station and checked her bag and noticed that the zipper of her bag was opened, and the brown envelope containing cash amounting to P123,400 and certificate of appearance from the Land Bank were missing. The suspects went toward km 6.
  
Narra confiscated, suspects charged 
PARACELIS, Mountain Province -- Police here filed charges against a certain Rose Marie Balansi, 35, of Tabuk, Kalinga; and Ryan Sungday, 33, of PoblacionParacelis for violation of forestry laws before the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office.
Police reports from PNP Provincial Director Police Supt Cornelio Comila  said a combined team of  PNP-Paracelis, Department of  Environment and Natural Resources with Philippine Army  stationed  here confiscated 28 pieces of 549 board feet of narra lumber costing P43,972 at barangay Butigue June 19.Confiscated lumber were deposited at the Paracelis Police Station.
Police said PNP personnel received a call from a  concerned citizen informing them of a   gray van with plate number CY 360 loaded with narra lumber and going towards Butigue.
Also, police here confiscated 26 abandoned narra lumber of different sizes along the Poblacion Paracelis road  June 18.  The confiscated narra worth P24,785 was  discovered  when police responded to a vehicular accident  on same section of the road and noticed a pile of narra  flitches at the grassy portion covered with banana leaves. Said lumber were deposited at the DENR office. -- Gina Dizon

Driver stabbed by merchant in Baguio
BAGUIO CITY – A driver was stabbed by a merchant here Monday around 7 p.m. at No. 44, Lower Fairview here. A police report said Yardly Soriano Nicholson, 35, was stabbed by Isagani Fernando Seguin, 36, both residents of said place.
Investigation disclosed that the victim was drinking liquor with his friend named Robert inside his rented room when the suspect who resides at the 1st floor got irritated. The suspect went to the victim’s room and stabbed him once on his back then fled to unknown direction.
The victim was brought to Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center while the suspect is now object of police manhunt.

Young man hacks older drinking mate
SABLAN, Benguet – A man was hacked by his drinking mate here Monday around 7:30 p.m. and rushed in critical condition to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center.
Police investigation revealed the incident happened  at a store at SitioAmbacuag, Barangay Banangan wherein the victim identified as Antero Balian Lingbanan, 38, farmer, was hacked by the suspect named as Jerson Gorio, 18.
Investigation disclosed that the victim and the suspect were having a drinking spree when a heated argument ensued between them. At that instance, the suspect suddenly got his bolo and hacked the forehead of the victim. The suspect fled after the incident.
  
Jeep driver mauls ‘fareless’ passenger
BAGUIO CITY – A jeepney driver mauled a miner for telling him if he could ride his vehicle Monday around 9:30 p.m. at Acupanjeep terminal here along Harrison Road.
Police identified the victim as Jerry Salicon Kingad, 28. Investigation disclosed that the victim and his friend boarded the jeep to home and informed the unidentified driver they have no money to pay their fare. The suspect who was allegedly drunk told the victim:“Apay gamen nga aglugan kayo nga awan pamasahe yu” (Why do you ride if you don’t have fare?) and the victim replied him:“Han ka man nga agsao ti kasta, haan me met itarayan plete me”
(Don’t talk that way, we will not run without paying our fare, then the victim got out from the jeep. The driver got irked and followed the victim, and struck him three times using a driller. Concerned citizens pacified the driver while the victim and his companion ran away.
Several minutes later, they went back to the jeep terminal and went home to Balatoc, Itogon, Benguet. The victim’s companions saw that the wound on the back of the victim’s head was bleeding so they brought him to BGHMC for treatment. The victim has not filed a complaint yet against the driver. 

Bank security escort victimizes Manila couple
BAGUIO CITY – A security guard victimized a couple and took away their cell phone here Tuesday around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday after handcuffing the husband. A police report said the incident started at the parking area of Dely’s Inn located here along Abanao Extension.
It was here where Myra Areta Ong, 45, married, executive of Veterans Bank head office Makati City, Manila, who was billeted at Delys Inn, was allegedly lied to by Juan Carlo GatallioZapanta, security escort of Veterans Bank, Abanao Extension, Baguio City under Saint Claire security agency based at Quezon City. The suspect, resident of No. 24 1st road Quezon Hill, Baguio allegedly stole her black Sony Xperia cell phone worth P15,000.
The complainant told police around 4:40 p.m. that day, while she was inside Veterans Bank at Abanao Extension, the suspect informed her that her husband was at the police station and asked her to proceed to Station 7.
The suspect allegedly went to the complainant’s hotel room where Zapanta told her husband Mark Ong to use substance (presumably shabu) he brought. The suspect immediately handcuffed Mr.Ong then took the car’s key purportedly to search the car for illegal drugs. At around 1:30 a.m. of June 28, the victim came back and found out that her cell phone was allegedly missing.
While searching for her cell phone, victim noticed a black handbag placed at the car’s back seat. When she checked its content, she saw the suspect’s assorted identification cards kept inside a black leather wallet.
The police report didn’t say if the suspect was arrested.  

Lagawe establishment ransacked by robbers
LAGAWE, Ifugao – Police reported a robbery that transpired Tuesday, at about 7:30 a.m. here at JMB Commercial Building, Poblacion East owned by Celina HabbilingNamuhmuh, 50.
Police investigation disclosed the incident was perpetrated by unidentified suspects who destroyed the padlock and forcibly opened the roll-up door and carted away laptops, cell phones and cameras with still undetermined cost.

Security guard finds stolen motorcycle
LAGAWE, Ifugao – A certain Allan Herbert Tannong Rosales, 25, security guard here of  Western Union at JDT Building, Poblacion East, called police saying while at Baguinge, Kiangan, Ifugao, he caught in the possession of one Michael Onnoman his sport Racal motorcycle which was allegedly carnapped  last Jan. 9 at Rizal Avenue, Poblacion East, Lagawe.
                Investigation disclosed Rosales parked his motorcycle along the shoulder road of JP Rizal Avenue, Poblacion East, Lagawe, at about 10 p.m. of Jan. 9, placed its ignition key in his pocket and   slept beside the motorcycle with his friend due to drunkenness but when he   woke up, he noticed that his motorcycle was missing.

Estafa lands man in jail
TABUK, Kalinga – Police nabbed a man here June 20 for estafa. The suspect was identified as Jacky Palapos Luis, 28. Judge Efren M. Cacatian, RTC, 2nd Judicial Region Branch 35, Santiago City, Isabela earlier issued warrant against the suspect wsho now detained at city jail here.

Two hurt in Lamut collision
LAMUT, Ifugao – Two men were injured when a motorcycle and tricycle collided here June 20 around 10:30 a.m. along the provincial road at Mabato-bato. Police said the tricycle driven by Raffy Duque Alindada, 21, who had no driver’s license, accidentally bumped the motorcycle driven by Daniel Bantiyan Kinakin, 29, laborer.
Investigation disclosed both vehicles were proceeding towards Mabatobato when  Kinakin overtook the tricycle. However, he was accidentally bumped from behind by the tricycle upon returning to their lane. As a result, Kinakin was injured and brought to Dr. Thomas Sr. and Maria Quilang Medical and Maternity Clinic but later reffered to Panopdopan District Hospital for treatment. The back rider of the motorcycle identified as Mark Anthony BantiyanBangsoy, 24, student, and esident of Boliwong, LagaweIfugao was brought to Panopdopan District Hospital and later discharged after medication. Alindada voluntarily appeared at Lamut police station for investigation. Both vehicles were brought to Lamutpolie station for safekeeping.

Gas explosion hurts  helper, destroys apartment
BAGUIO CITY – A gas explosion damaged an apartment here June 20 while injuring a laborer around 9:20 p.m. Police said the incident happened in the kitchen of the apartment at No. 145 Purok 1, Clover Leaf Alley, Padre Zamora Barangay where one Frank Vanjo Menor, 23, stay-in at said place was injured.
Investigation revealed that the victim was about to light the gas stove when suddenly exploded causing injuries on him and damages to their apartment. The victim immediately went out to seek help from their neighbors who rushed him to Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center for treatment.

 Drinking spree leads to shooting; one hurt
BANGUED, Abra – A man was jailed here for allegedly shooting his drinking mate on June 19 at around 5:15 p.m. at Consolado, Lingtan, Bangued along the barangay road.
Police said the victim identified as Jimmy Padre Bocarile, 34, water refiller, and resident of Barangay Lipcan, was shot by Rojel Quesada Sagudang, 42, of  Agsimao, Tineg town.
Investigation disclosed that prior to the incident, victim and the suspect were having a drinking spree at a birthday party at the residence of certain Jonel Bernal. The victim and the suspect had a heated argument due to misunderstanding but were pacified by Jonel Bernal. The victim decided to go home but while walking along the road, the suspect intercepted the victim and shot him twice and fled on foot to unknown direction.
The victim was immediately rushed by Marlon Benabese Conception to the Abra Provincial Hospital for medical treatment. According to Dr. ApolinarTurqueza, attending physician, the victim was shot twice on his left abdomen and was operated on.
Later at about 8 p.m., the suspect surrendered to police with the Cal. 45 handgun which had one bullet.

Taxi driver held up
BAGUIO CITY – A taxi driver was held up here by two unidentified men on June 19around 11:50 p.m. along Yangco Rd., Upper General Luna. Police identified the victim as Berto Lucas Marcos, 58.
Investigation disclosed while the victim was driving the taxi described as Isuzu Crosswind, with trade name of Purple Triangle, bearing plate No. AYU-260 owned by Rodolfo Amango of Cruz, La Trinidad, Benguet, he was flagged down by the holduppers and ask ed him to ferry them at Sumulong St., Baguio City. While on their way, one of the suspects seated at the back suddenly choked him then poked a bladed weapon on his head and uttered “Huwag kang papalag, pera lang ang kailangan namin! Ilabasmo kung anoang maibibigay mo!” This, while the other suspect seated in front also grabbed him then poked a knife on his belly. The victim who was frightened gave his collection money worth P600 to the suspects who immediately fled towards Sumulong St. while the victim sought for police assistance.

Female vendor stabbed 6 times near La Triinidad fire station
LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – A vendor was stabbed here by still unidentified men June 19 around 8 p.m. near the Bureau of Fire Protection building here at Cabanao, Balili.
Police identified the victim as Carina Comba-as Biltican, 27, of Lomon, Kapangan, Benguet.
Investigation disclosed while the victim was walking along the road, she was approached by one of the suspects who was standing at the unlighted sidewalk near the BFP office and asked her the way going to km 6 in Tagalog dialect.
When she answered, the other suspect from behind choked and stabbed her several times. The victim was able to run towards the BFP building where firemen brought her to Benguet General Hospital for medical treatment while suspects immediately fled towards the national road. One of suspects was wearing sweatshirt with hood, and short pant, while the other suspect was wearing gray T-shirt and running shorts with both speaking Tagalog.
         The attending physician declared that the victim had five stab wounds but these were not fatal. Cops looked for the suspects but do date they were not found.

Bauko resident arrested in Atok for illegal lumber
ATOK, Benguet – Cops arrested a man here at Gueweng, Abiang June 19 around 9:30 p.m. for transporting lumber without papers. The suspect was named as Jake Maitang Kitoyan, 31, of Bangnen, Bauko, Mountain Province.
Cops were conducting checkpoint in the place when they flagged down a closed container van described as Mitsubishi Canter loaded with 282 pieces of pine lumbers valued at P35,250
A certain Froilan Langtiwan, also of Bangnen who was driving the vehicle evaded arrest. Kitoyan, failed to present permit to deliver the lumber prompting police to arrest him.
Charges were prepared against Kitoyan while the lumber and vehicle were impounded.

Two nabbed for illegal lumber
PARACELIS, Mountain Province – Police and Environment officers intercepted a van here June 19 around 11 a.m. along the national road from Poblacion going to Butigue, driven by  Ryan Sungday Wannig, 33, and his passenger Rose Marrie Balansi, 35.
Both were arrested for transporting 28 pieces of narra lumber worth P43, 972.Annig and Balansi were brought to local police station while the vehicle was impounded.


Trike drivers hurt in collision with jeep
TUBA, Benguet – Two men were injured here June 19 around 5 p.m. along Asin road in SitioLasong when the motorcycle they were riding on collided with a passenger jeep. 
Police said the motorcycle registered to Samuel Nadiahan of  km 6 Asin Road, driven by Kenneth Magappid Nadiahan, 25, collided public with the passenger jeep owned by Samuel Napiloy of Asin Road, driven by Jey Carvin Ananyu Tagtagon, 23, resident of km 6.
The motorcycle was ascending towards Baguio City when it encroached opposite lane and accidentally collided with the descending jeep  headed towards Asin.
As a result, the driver of motorcycle was injured on his head while his rider identified as Jetrick Benito Mariano, 23, construction worker, was hurt on his right foot. Both were rushed to Baguio General Hospital for medical treatment. The motorcycle was heavily damaged while the jeep had dents on its bumper and side mirror. Both parties agreed to settle their case amicably.

Europa caretaker mauled, robbed by co-drinkers 
BAGUIO CITY – The caretaker of Europa Condominium here at Barangay Mines View was mauled by two men who took his wallet containing cash of P3,000 and his Sony cellphone worth P3,000. 
                Police said the incident recently happened around 11:30 p.m. along Modesta St. in the barangay where the complainant was identified as Eddie Macasakit y Mauricio, 52, married.
His assailants were named as Oliver Ciriaco and Clydon Tomas, both residents of Mines View. Investigation disclosed around 10:30 p.m. that day, the victim and his friend Kenneth Swida Alvin went to buy liquor at PantewBar in the area. While at said place, they were seen by the suspects who were drinking and were invited to drink. After consuming one bottle of Red Horse beer, victims paid their bill and both decided to go home. However, they were followed by the suspects who aided one another in mauling the victim and taking his personal belongings.

Responding cops brought the victim to Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center for treatment while a case for physical injuries was prepared against the suspect
